I remember Billy Gonzales. Sullivan was our passing game coordinator too.

The, we are having the saints offense is retarded and you will be let down if you think that.
You’d almost have to believe that they would go from RPOs to the 2000s USC back to RPOs then the Rams offense and now the saints.

All the meanwhile running I formations vs Bama.

Nobody has said he sucks, just that’s he’s a young coach in his first real job and probably not nearly as big of an influence on the Saints staff as some here would have you believe.
He’s credited with the Taysom Hill packages. That’s it. He’s a sharp young mind. He’s also not the OC.

You're the one that seems curious. I would suggest that you check into it and get back with us on what you found.

Pretty sure I remember Bill Parcells being not so enthusiastic about Payton being a head coach when he was hired.

Damning with faint praise.
Payton could easily have given LSU fans a morsel of confidence in Joe Brady.
He deliberately chose not to do so.
Read that as you will.

Brady IS the passing game coordinator.

I know, and we hired a guy to be "passing game coordinator" from Florida several years ago, who was supposed to bring things from the Urban Meyer offense over here. That turned out to be an outright lie. And every time Orgeron says he's going to change something, and that "this guy will do this, and this guy will do that, and there will be no interference" it has been a lie.

So, again, without the ability to see into the future, I will simply HOPE that this time is different. But I have no reason to expect it.

Have to just wait and see. I did not see any RPO in the spring game. But what I did see left an impression upon me, this will be a different offense from what we have seen in the past. I really enjoyed the first quarter and half of offensive formations and route combinations. This was the first time after a spring game that I did not feel apprehensive about the up coming season on the offensive side of the ball.

How well this plays out against some of the teams on our schedule remains to be seen. But for once we are going to see something modern out there on the field.

I remember Urban Meyer being not so enthusiastic about Mullen getting the HC job at Miss St. At a presser, a reporter asked UFM about Mullen's new job. Meyer just laughed at the reporter. Meyer had not heard about it til the reporter spilled it. After Meyer realized what happened, he took it well, but you could tell he was fuming over not being told by Mullen.

Nice deflection

You may be in the habit of running and jumping when someone says so but I'm not. If you think that is a deflection then you don't know what a deflection is. That man is perfectly capable of typing in a few words and finding out what a passing coordinator does. You, on the other hand, it's highly doubtful. Maybe you two should team up. Together you should be able to figure it out.

Billy Gonzalez was the first person to come to mind when all this excitement kicked off after the hire. It really does feel like the same type of hire. That’s not a knock on either because I liked both hires at the time. Even if Brady fails, I would hope Orgeron keeps hiring these young, seemingly innovative coaches. But I really am excited about Brady but it’s because of the excitement of change and possibly something new. IMO, its a great hire that is low risk-high reward type of hire.

Gonzales was with Meyer at Bowling Green, Utah, and Florida. Then OC or co-OC with Mullen at Miss St and now Florida again.

Is there ANY doubt that Gonzales would have installed a solid passing game if Miles hadn't been so damn stubborn?
