2011 the best followed by 2007 and 1969 and 2003.

I cannot rate pre-1960 as I was too young.

2011. That was also the toughest sos LSU has ever played. 03 sos isn't in the top 5.

2011 also beat every team they played.

2011 is best by a long shot.

Best players from 2003 and 2007 combined don't beat them.

2001 is the equivalent of today's east champ. Great they were the first to win a conf title in a long time, but that team wasn't very good.

You sure is dumb, baw

Many Bama fans would tell you that was their best team.

The NC game is what it is. Doesn't take away that we had one of the best resumes ever that year. Beat the Pac 12/Rose bowl champ, Big East/Fiesta bowl champ, Cotton bowl champ, the eventual MNC, and went unbeaten in the SEC.
The only one within 2 touchdowns was Bama

That team was incredible bro

People imaging the 2011 team with a seasoned Mett at QB need to take a step back and look at 2013 without early NFL casualties.

I don't think there'd be a single player sitting home on Sundays.

I like the 1987 team. Also 2006 and 2005> 2007. 2003 is #1 for me. 2011 close second. 1969>2001

Not really the same.. because Mett was actually on that 2011 roster.. so if you are just taking roster with players I think 2011 has potential to be the best. Miles had his QB though in Jefferson, even when Lee was being incredibly efficient that year.. the moment Jefferson's ordeal was over with he was immediately the starter again. No one was starting over him.

Jefferson's suspension was for 4 games.. he didn't start until Week 9.

It is hard to compare teams and their competition levels in a given year. The 2011 team beat All the best teams and bowl winners. Had they beat Alabama twice Or Okie St. had Bama not gotten a redo, they would no doubt be considered the best.
But to compare teams in different years and eras is really a difficult thing to do. I don't know how the 2003 or 2007 teams would have fared against Oregon, West Virginia, Alabama twice.

The 2011 team would beat the 1958 team by about 150 to zero.

First of all you cannot compare teams of different, because the game has changed. In my opinion the 1961 team is the most talented of all time. Not only did many of these guys such as Stovall, Winston, Truax, Gaubatz, Miller, etc. make NFL teams, many of them were studs who had long careers. Dietzel said this team was better than the 58 team.

Jarrett Lee should have taken boxing lessons, he couldn't take being hit in the nose.

The 1969 team was the best. It definitely was the best LSU team that didn't go to a bowl,,,thanks to Notre Dame.

So the greatest LSU team of all time couldn't get past the 50 until the 4th quarter in the NCG? The best ever, really?

Our best team ever got shut out with 92 total yards of offense? That's our best ever?

The 2003 team would have won the 2011 title game.

didnt the 2003 team cross the 50 once vs UF, at home, and fumbled on that play?

that offense was shut out too
