That last formation where they spiked the ball was an illegal formation. Should have been a penalty and 10 second run off.

Game would have been over. I can live with the knee being down and the wr getting the first down, but what about that illegal formation and the fumble by their TE? Those were botched calls no matter how you truly to argue it.

The nation knows who really won that game last night and the national media will be calling it all all week. I can live with an illegitimate win by A&M. I also don hang my head as an LSU fan.

where is you analysis of the frickin complete pass and fumble by aTm in the first OT that should have ended the frickin game!

I specifically thought we got screwed on the last drive when watching last night. The formations should have gotten a call, but the others were a series of unbelievable, but apparently correct, crap that went their way.

There’s a whole bunch of crap that happened in OT. I don’t have time for that. Knock yourself out!

By rule once you touch the ball while the ball is on the ground if your knee is also on the ground its considered dead at that point. That was a good call by the officials.

So as a defender you just have to touch a loose ball to recover it?

As a receiver if the ball hits the ground on catch it doesn't matter because touching it constitutes possession?

Exactly. There is always some runoff. In no situation do I ever see them reviewing to see when the tip of the ball touched the first blade of grass then look how many milliseconds are on the clock

Right, which is just an absurd rule IMO

Even if the refs share no blame and were just enforcing the rules as written, there are a few rules that appear to be in need updating.

the fumble by their TE

Was that the last drive? So much happened I can’t remember what happened when. I didn’t see this rewatching the last drive (which was all I was looking at).

ETA: Ok, now I know what you’re talking about. I’ve been calling that the “BS incomplete pass” in my head and didn’t connect them. Yes, that might have been the worst call of all. I didn’t look at the OT calls - just the last drive.

I can actually see how the refs might miss the formation calls in the heat of the moment (are they reviewable if not called?). The “incomplete pass” should have been reviewed, overturned, and LSU wins.

Imagine if that had been the opposite though. LSU fans would have blown their stack of that had been called a fumble.

It was a fumble.

The clock stops on a spike when the ref blows the whistle right? Not when the millisecond the ball hits the ground.

On an incomplete pass when does the clock stop?

By rule there needs to be 4 players in backfield. In 2 of those pics there are 2 players lined up in the backfield... Especially the last spoke. That should have been a 10 second clock rundown.

I’m as frustrated as the next person but come on, we have become “that” fan base. Conspiracy theories. Tin foil hats. The world is against us.

We’re quickly becoming the angry old man down the street.

When the smoke clears just remember this: We are a 3 loss regular season team again. We’ll be playing in an obscure bowl again. We have taken no strides to distance ourselves from the Miles era again.

Much more frustrating to me than some officials calls (which if we take care of our business we win this game going away in regulation) is that we were defeated by 2 programs that are rebuilding with first year coaches- and the realization that this is very likely O’s ceiling. The SEC will only get stronger from this point. We caught the league at it weakest last year-and lost 4 games.

If O holds the cards close and sticks with Ensminger after the poor showing this season, it proves he’s basically Les Miles 2.0. The real problem will be it won’t be a quick death. He’ll hoover around 3-4 losses for years until we ultimately realize “we ain’t coming”.

I don't mind the call, I only mind how it wasn't called on the field. If that call was properly called, their would have been a lot more time ran off the clock than " a 10 second run off" also, they would have lost a down from spiking the ball or the last play of the game due to time. The refs gave them that game with that call because so much more goes into a situation like that when you have no time outs left. You can't make me believe that team would have gotten that ball off in 10 seconds and then what about the down they would've wasted spiking the ball.

That’s why I showed the two pics - original line of scrimmage and where he ended up.

He only has to be touching the ball when knee is down

So when someone fumbles and they are down, all they have to do is touch it and the play is over?
