Eddie Nunez will be new AD and will hire a second level football coach to five or six year contract at 5-7M per. Watch.
Posted on 10/30/25 at 3:25 am to LSUtigah
Hiring a football coach at 5-7 mil per year and putting the rest towards NIL would actually be more productive and profitable than give more than 10 mil per year to a coach. Some of you people are dumb as hell. Good coaches can be found especially if you look around like Indiana’s AD did.

He gave a guy named Jimbo $75 million dollars over 10 years. If that’s smart then we need the dumbest sonofabitch out there as the AD

WRONG!
The extension was Bjork but the initial contract was Woodward and it was 10-years $75million FULLY GUARANTEED!
Jimbo is ABSOLUTELY on Woodward!

Learn how to form real sentences before you try to associate yourself with the University. kthxbye

He did what he had to do to get the coach TAMU wanted. That contract wasn’t the issue. It was the extension that he wasn’t part of that was the big problem.

He took a shot on a coach with decent credentials from a big program. Nobody has a crystal ball.
Posted on 10/30/25 at 7:42 am to TigerDavid3527
He needs to be fired. As I have said, this university lacks leadership, but looking at the substrate available in this state, the math checks out. Cannot make chicken salad out of chicken shite. Need a professional search committee. Scott Woodward has a shot and completely blew it.

See this comment right here. It is the stupidest narrative and lie ever.
Drink some coffee and read this twice with your second grade reading level.
Woodward left A&M in 2019, when Woodward left, Jimbo Fisher had a little under 20 mil in buyout left. The next year, 2020, Woodward was no longer working at Texas A&M as AD. Ross Bjork was the NEW AD, not Scott Woodward, who signed Jimbo to an insane 7 year, 10 mil a year extension. Two years later, they fire Jimbo and owe him 70 mil. Had Ross Bjork (NOT SCOTT WOODWARD) made a better decision with the extension, they would not have had that buyout.
Now Scott did Hire Jimbo, and they had an average 8-4 record with him. But you are not making that argument. You can hate Scott for his ability to hire 8-4 coaches, but we really should have waited 1 more year, for a more tolerable 40 mil buyout.

Answer the following questions:
1. Did the AD spend more than it earned last year? If so why?
- Nearly every school spends more than they make now. Emerging NiL taking away donations that used to go to the schools, Rev sharing and cost of staff has risen. Not to mention people went nuts over the recent ticket price adjustments and we are one of the cheapest tickets in big time athletics. So yea... it's normal
2. Did he hire a basketball coach that has drug down that program to one of the worst in the conference? What’s that salary commitment to McMahon?
-Well- pressure to cover the football program for shite that was going on before Woodward was what led to avoiding the WW disaster which left us as a most undesired BBall school requiring a crazy contract just to get someone. After all that I will still say it was a bad decision, but at the time it was justifiable.
3. Did he sign Jimbo Fisher at TAMU and Brian Kelly and did both cost their schools? And yes Fisher counts as he was only 3 years in if that monster 10 year deal. It was guaranteed and what was guaranteed was going to get paid regardless of the extension.
-He brought in Jimbo to aTm from FSU after winning a Natty which is unheard of and required a big deal. The extension is on Ross Bjork.
4 did he keep Verge A despite the fact he knowingly cost the university to pay out for Title IX violations because they are friends?
- If you think Verge is Woodwards boys and he protected him, maybe you can explain why he is being talked about as the next AD and at the minimum will stay on. That has to do with his wife's family ties to LA politics.
I can agree that Woodward makes big splash hires that aren't always best and that we should be using the consulting firms to find candidates with value, but there is an equal amount of pressure from our fan base to hire the big names because it feels like it justifies our stance as an elite program. What we should all be focused on is how poorly all of this was handled from Kelly's hiring and poor fit and contract to his firing without any plan to move forward, no University President and a Governor who can't manage to do his job(NOLA and BR were ranked among the most dangerous cities in the US). What has transpired is a stain on our University and State. Between Woodward, the Board of Regents, the Governor and the citizens arguing about this bullshite LA has further become the laught stock of the Country. It's an absolute shame.

Woodward forces Bo Prllini on the football team which started a chain reaction that LSU football has not recovered. It is being reported that he meddled with staff hires with BK as well. He is a nerd and should stick to nerd things.
Posted on 10/30/25 at 8:20 am to TigerDavid3527
Let's say you're a physics major in college and you ace your humanities classes and bomb your math and science classes, how do you think that's going to work for your future as a scientist?
If Woody's best hires are baseball and women's basketball, let him go to a small school where those programs make money and run the athletic department. At LSU, football runs the show.

Hey mouth breaher, in 2017 Woody signed Jimbo Fisher to a 10 year $75 million contract. Jimbo was on his way out at FSU for failing to live up to expectations again.
Any AD that signs a flailing coach to that contract should be ashamed. As Tiger fans, we LOVED that hire.

What other staff hires did he meddle with? I honestly don't know.
He whiffed on mcmahon for sure. And he whiffed on Brian kelly.

Woodward fired the best basketball coach who brought excitement to the program in Will Wade where nobody gives a frick about basketball anymore. He also hired the most unlikable football coach in Brian Kelly where not one person liked him and had his back.

Jimbo Career FSU: 2010 10-4, W in BCS bowl game, 2011 9-4, 2012 12-2 W in BSC bowl game, 2013 14-0 Natty, 2014 13-1 L in BCS bowl, 2015 10-3 L in BCS bowl, 2016 10-3 W in BCS bowl, 2017 5-6.
At A&M, Scotty hired him for 10 year 75 mil 100% guarentee:
2018 9-4 W in loser bowl, 2019 8-5 W in texas bowl. Scott Woodward leaves, Jimbo is still owed 60 million. 2020 Jimbo goes 9-1 robbed of playoff spot and W in orange bowl. New AD signed 10 year 100 million dollar extension.
Had A&M not knee jerked that extension, A&M next 3 years go 8-4, 5-7, and 6-4. They Fire Jimbo under Scott's contract for 37.5 million. Literally half.
Looking at his career, and the scene at time Time, Jimbo was an Okay hire. Brian Kelly I will agree was not.
But anyone thinking that Jeff Landry and his board will make a better hire than an actual AD just doesn't understand the mine field that hiring a head coach can be. I just don't see us firing Brian Kelly going to make us a better team.
