Jimbo Career FSU: 2010 10-4, W in BCS bowl game, 2011 9-4, 2012 12-2 W in BSC bowl game, 2013 14-0 Natty, 2014 13-1 L in BCS bowl, 2015 10-3 L in BCS bowl, 2016 10-3 W in BCS bowl, 2017 5-6.

At A&M, Scotty hired him for 10 year 75 mil 100% guarentee:
2018 9-4 W in loser bowl, 2019 8-5 W in texas bowl. Scott Woodward leaves, Jimbo is still owed 60 million. 2020 Jimbo goes 9-1 robbed of playoff spot and W in orange bowl. New AD signed 10 year 100 million dollar extension.

Had A&M not knee jerked that extension, A&M next 3 years go 8-4, 5-7, and 6-4. They Fire Jimbo under Scott's contract for 37.5 million. Literally half.

Looking at his career, and the scene at time Time, Jimbo was an Okay hire. Brian Kelly I will agree was not.

But anyone thinking that Jeff Landry and his board will make a better hire than an actual AD just doesn't understand the mine field that hiring a head coach can be. I just don't see us firing Brian Kelly going to make us a better team.
See this comment right here. It is the stupidest narrative and lie ever.

Drink some coffee and read this twice with your second grade reading level.

Woodward left A&M in 2019, when Woodward left, Jimbo Fisher had a little under 20 mil in buyout left. The next year, 2020, Woodward was no longer working at Texas A&M as AD. Ross Bjork was the NEW AD, not Scott Woodward, who signed Jimbo to an insane 7 year, 10 mil a year extension. Two years later, they fire Jimbo and owe him 70 mil. Had Ross Bjork (NOT SCOTT WOODWARD) made a better decision with the extension, they would not have had that buyout.

Now Scott did Hire Jimbo, and they had an average 8-4 record with him. But you are not making that argument. You can hate Scott for his ability to hire 8-4 coaches, but we really should have waited 1 more year, for a more tolerable 40 mil buyout.
Not to get political, but it seems that politics will have a pretty decent part in this hiring.

I cannot think of many coaches who would take an extra 1-2 million to come deal with Louisiana Politics. Kiffin is making close to 10 million now, and if he makes a deep run with Ole Miss, or even worse, win the playoffs, I mean he would have to be an absolute moron to come to this job.

The fact we wont look at hiring John Sumrall because we would be stilling from another in state school, is politics enough for me to realize, the wrong people will be making this coaching hire.

For as much as we give Scott Woodward crap about the Jimbo hire, when he left A&M in 2019 Jimbo's buyout was around 22 million. The AD that replaced him gave him an extension after the 2020 season. Woodward got Mulky and Jay Johnson to get 3 National Championships in the 6 years he has been here, he should have a say in our next coach. The fact that our Governor is adamant about him NOT having a say, is the biggest red flag from all the big coaches we would want. That is my reasoning as to why I don't think we will get Lane Kiffin or Marcus Freeman.
