This game ultimately means nothing longterm. But this place will still melt at a high level.

Before the season started, 9 wins including a Bama win would have been more than outstanding.

But we don’t want to end the season by losing 3 in a row. Ending on a high note and achieving 10 wins would be special for this year. 10 wins is a good thing. So let’s get number 10.

no melt for me. Sure I will be pissed if we lose, depending on how, but it's a pretty meaningless bowl game. I can't imagine anyone melting over this game after the last 2

I think we will win and finish with 10 wins, which is a great Year1. Especially given the circumstances with scholarship numbers after last year.

But if for some reason we lose and finish 9-5 (9-3 regular season), SEC West champs, beat Bama, won a lot of tossup games, I am still very pleased overall with the season and the direction of the program.

The outcome of the bowl game will not affect my optimism for the future of the program.

I would like to see a straight line up in regards to progress measured by wins, so in some ways I’m okay if our win total remains at 9 heading into next year….in other words, win 10+ next year and we’re clearly improving on a W/L perspective. An argument can be made that we may have had too MUCH success in year1.

To answer your melt question, I’m at a 1 if we lose the bowl game.

We would basically go from elite season, to great season, to good season by our standards.

10 wins, plus NY6 and SEC West is an elite season I'd say.

Only thing better is a championship season (whether natty or SEC).

Don't see it man. This team will not only be fully rested, I think at the very least we can get motivated for the bowl game.

If you looked at the UGA game, we didn't lose that because of lack of effort, we lost that because of lack of depth, talent, health, and mistakes.

We were expected to win 6-7 games and finish last in the SEC West... Add the fact this time last year we had no coach, 39 scholarship players and had to start a WR at QB to even field a Bowl team...

One group of fans would be elated to finish 9-5. Whether lsu loses by a field goal to Purdue or by 30, the team beat Alabama and won the west.

Another group of fans would be disappointed since they lost to A&M a team with one conference win before they played lsu. Looked average against UAB and Arkansas and had Georgia put up 50 points.

In a nutshell, that’s where the division is between lsu fans.

I seem to remember many people saying the same about A&M.

That would literally be only a 3 game improvement from last year with no HC and a WR playing QB in the bowl game.

You can't justify beating Alabama then losing in embarrassing fashion to Aggie and a coachless Purdue. I think we beat Purdue and get the elusive 10W season.
