Yes, and there’s a reason he’s retired. If he were still at the peak of his game and the competitive juices were still flowing he’d still be coaching and the Arizona program wouldn’t be in the worst shape it’s even been in.

And they didn't even make a regional this year.
So try again.
Canning Torina is NOT the answer if you are going to just plug in some random coach who has never won anything.

The AD is not gonna fire her and bring in a coach with less credentials as Torina. Unless he has a big whale all ready lined up I just don’t see it happening just yet. My guess is he gives her an ultimatum to bring in new assistants and a chance to fix what is broken and bring life back into a stale program. I just don’t believe there is anyone out there right now that fits the bill that’s not already coaching a top team.

Go write a big fat check to Lonni Alameda. LSU is way more prestigious and has better resources. Go after the most attainable whale possible. Tell her she wants to WIN in the SEC!!

Alameda makes more than Torina already, so it’s difficult to argue that LSU has better resources. LSU fans have an inflated sense of the “prestige” of a program with no national titles and only 2 WCWS appearances prior to Torina.
