Not sure about fanbases but Kirby Smart practically gave him a rim job at SEC media days. So Smart loves him some Commissioner Stankass

Sankey was never qualified for the position he holds. The member institutions foolishly let Slive choose his successor. Someone tell me what his signature accomplishments have been. Where has he provided quality, forward thinking leadership?

Somebody should ask him what his vision is for CFB going forward? What does he expect it to look like in 10 years? 15 years?

IMO, Sankey is way out of his league. The delta between the B1G and the SEC TV contracts is in and of itself enough to put him out to pasture. Beyond that, instead of righting the course, he's facilitating its (CFB) demise.

Many of the fan bases hopped on the Sankey band wagon in some odd form of virtue signaling when expelling us from the conference was in the news.

Upon a little reflection, many should feel this way and none more so than the Aggies (and whether they should even be in the "SEC" is a discussion for another day). The unwritten rule in the SEC was that no other in-state school would be admitted into the conference without the blessing of the current in-state school(s). For example, no FSU without UF's concurrence even if the other schools wanted FSU.

So Sankey steamrolled the Aggies to add the Longhorns.

Unfortunately, with the 9 conference game schedule the SEC needs a 24 team playoff. They just beat up on eachother and there will be good teams that finish 9-3 that deserve to be in. You are talking about only 1 extra round of games.

How many have made it to the current 12 team playoff? Very very few. And none to the 4 or 2 game play of before that. So very very few opportunities resulted in none. Wild card teams have won the Super Bowl.

Who would have thought Oklahoma was going to win the WS?

Why would anyone be in favor of keeping the SEC championship game in this era of college football? Just one more chance for an SEC school to be eliminated from the playoffs, key players hurt, travel schedule before the playoffs, etc.

Honestly, I don't think there is much support from the other 15 presidents to get rid of Sankey.

I have heard this from what I deem as a credible source.

yup

it was a huge help in the BCS era. now a hindrance. at the rate we are going we will need to cut back to a high school 10 game schedule if we will need to win a zillion playoff games to win a natty. whole thing is a joke. burn it all down and start over. playoffs shoulda never went past 8 teams.

College football and baseball are two different species. For example, one plays about 15 games/season and the other 60+.

A 24-team CFB playoff is just crazy in my world but it all depends on how one would want to shape the game. I'd prefer to have conference champs only in a playoff so that the national champ can say we demonstrated superiority on the field to the exclusion of the most number of other teams.

Correct; they would end up 13-3 if they win it all. Or 14-3 in the 24 team playoff.

2. Sankeys leadership has resulted in a terrible TV contract. the Big 10 has a MUCH better contract and they have larger pay outs to each school in spite of the fact the SEC has better viewership of the games. Sankey obviously is NOT the guy to negotiate the next contraact.

Is he the one who actually negotiates?

The BCS had the best evaluation criteria with:
- strength of schedule
- computer
Both of these should be implemented.

Regarding the number of teams in the playoff:
- 8 would be perfect
- 12 too many
- 24 INSANE
