Dude went 7 innings tonight with 6ks and gave up 0 runs. Not just 0 earned but 0 total . number of hits given up tonight? 2

Dude would be great to have as a Sunday starter or coming out of the pen. I'm guessing we would have used him in the pen. We were way too familiar with his game to give him a chance as a starter but iim sure jay would have noticed the improvement and had him as a long releiver.

The best thing about transferring like Sam did is that you get that clean slate

Have you seen this guy Kade Anderson who pitches for the LSU Tigers. He's pretty good too.

Happy for Sam. Happy for LSU. Both can be true.

I always rooted for him. Happy to see he’s making himself some money.

I’m confident we will hit and score runs on Dutton. Hopefully we will win the game as well, but we’ll just have to see.

As detailed oriented as Jay is knowing Dutton's weaknesses here the past several years he will have a gameplan for the batters.

I don’t think that anyone is calling for Dutton to replace Anderson. Just that he would be a nice price to have on this team.

The games against A&M and Bama last year still are fresh in my mind.

Glad he turned the corner and wish him all the best, except when playing LSU

Here's his stats page:

Samuel Dutton - AuburnTigers.com

FTR. I think he's surpassed expectations. He pitched well vs Vandy and tonight vs Bama. Was pretty pedestrian vs UK and UGA.

Glad for his contributions here '22 - '24. He has a ring. Don't care if he face plants now that he pitches for our direct competition.

ETA: the Stanfield trade seems to have worked out for both.

He was great tonight and was unreal in non conference. He wasn't even going deep against non conference when he was here though.

I just read his high school stats, they may be the best I've seen and that doesn't count his over 500 batting avg and over 650 obp

he also gave up 4 runs in 4 innings last weekend.

He’s the same guy.

Sammy threw 93 pitches, and 55 were strikes. Not a great ratio.

He got hit around a bit vs Vandy and Kentucky, got shelled by UGA.

I didn’t see any of last night vs bama, he def had a good game but im still not worried about him next week.

Good to see him get away from Yeskie and finally be able to put it together.
