So this will get interesting. Apparently there is a dispute on whether the language of Nielsen’s contract will support the move to the college ranks. The #Saints  are currently NOT signing off on this per sources.

Refuse to draft our players, now this.

I’m guessing they will sign off. You don’t and you run the risk of losing good hires by takeing a stupid stance

Shitty move by the Saints. I hope this is just a speed bump that’s worked out quickly.

If it’s one thing nfl coaches don’t like is asst breaking contracts
That will hurt him if he ever wants back in the nfl

If Nielsen wants the job which is a promotion in position and the Saints block it that won't go well for them.

Payton won't sign off on this, but he signed off on being a spineless bitch when the Saints were shitting all over Brees for having a different opinion than them on kneeling. He was silent. Silence is complicity.

I wonder how much that would be? NFL assistant salaries are what, 300k or so on average? And he probably has a 3 or 4 year deal?

It’s pretty unbelievable Orgeron wouldn’t have found this out before leaking he was going to hire this coach. And it’s unbelievable Sean Payton is so petty to block one of his own coaches from career advancement. Two idiots who deserve each other.

In Orgeron's defense on this one, how often do you hear of a coach fighting another coach (one who isn't even one of the main coordinators) from leaving?
