I don't think that is fair. He played a ton of football here, mostly out of position, due to poor roster management.
LSU has had five stars that didn't see the field.

Not all players want to ride the bench their entire career. Some want to, you know, actually play the sport they love.
And TJ Finley wasn't average at Texas State, he was actually very good. Texas State led the Sun Belt in scoring, and his 152.4 rating was second among conference QBs:

Very possible. He isn't a dumb kid either, he probably sees he isn't likely to make an NFL roster so wants to play somewhere he will be able to get on the field and actually make some significant contributions. ULL seems like a good spot.

I don't remember one single poster hating personally on the guy. But he has to be one of the most disappointing players ever to hit the football field at LSU. I saw NOTHING...ABSOLUTELY NOTHING... in any football ability from the supposed 5* out of HS. He was a poor tackler and also bad in coverage either in isolation or in help on a CB coverage.
Please...please....don't withdraw from the portal as happened last year.
