Saban’s problems don’t begin and end with Kirby Smart.

Nick Saban got off easy.

David Pollack caused a minor stir on ESPN’s halftime set at the national championship when he accurately stated that Georgia ruled college football the past two seasons. An innocuous enough comment, unless you factor in that Saban, the coach who previously lorded over the sport, was seated next to Pollack, looking right at him, as a guest of ESPN.

Pollack boldly did what few from the Worldwide Leader would consider: He removed his lips from Saban’s ring and told the truth to the man who long sat on college football’s throne....

And Georgia isn’t the only team Alabama is chasing. Look at what Brian Kelly is building at LSU. The Tigers beat the Crimson Tide in 2022 and are assembling a better team for Kelly’s second season.

Saban also should show the ending of LSU’s overtime victory over Alabama on a loop on screens inside the team facility, because the way the past few weeks have gone, Kelly’s Tigers appear here to stay.

And, behold, here comes LSU.

Eleven transfers have pledged to the Tigers so far, a group that 247Sports ranks as the nation's best transfer class.

At No. 10 on his list was FCS All-America cornerback Zy Alexander, who had nine career interceptions at Southeastern.

If nine LSU transfers are better than an FCS All-American, Alabama should brace for battle come Nov. 4 at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Saban knows this, he won’t be around much longer he had his time. NIL and portal changed everything

Isn’t it queer that before these articles broke, Saban’s most pressing problem was the insufficient size of his National Championship trophy case.

Pollack still mad about 2003. UGA got off easy not having to play Bama.

Coach Kelly is going to speed up the process, if true.

I think this is a bit premature. One of the sole reasons that Saban has made it to his level is his ability to adapt. He’s egotistical, but he’ll also humble himself to do what he has to do to win (like bringing in Kiffin to revolutionize his offensive philosophy).

Smart knows Saban’s system better than anyone and he also gets to avoid Bama in the east. He’s in a great position.

Regardless, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Alabama, yet.

Saban was playing in an NIL league way before everyone else was.

His success is as simple as that. And he knows it.

You're absolutely right, he took a shot at corch Saban, Pollack is a punk. LSU and Saban ruled and kicked him and Georgia's arse twice in 2003. You're right they lucky they didn't have to play Bama in the SECCG because I think they would have got beat.

but I still got nothing but love and respect for corch Saban, and I thank him for what he did at LSU. But I wish he had never left LSU.

Silly. I understand the hate for Saban. But he adapts. Saban won us a championship running the les miles offense before les miles won us a championship.

Saban moaned about the hurry spread offenses and then won a few natties running that offense.

Had he not lost to us on a 2-point conversion he would have had a chance to beat UGA on the natty and might have.

Yep, I mean his two losses last year were at Tennesse in a game that if his FG kicker makes the kick Bama wins and at LSU in overtime.

I mean that's how close he was to another undefeated season. And folks are writing him off again. Mistake.

He also lost to UT not just LSU. Both losses kept him from playing UGA and possibly beating them.

I think Saban may have one more left in the tank. I also think that if he is able to win one more he should and probably would call it a (HIGHLY successful) career.

Saban is assured of a win only when he has more talent than the team he is playing. Otherwise it's a toss-up. Look at his time in the NFL. Saban needs a loaded deck or he'an average coach

It's easy to say that Saban and Alabama are on the down swing, but they lost 2 games both on the last play of the game by a total of 4 points. Saying a UGA win vs Alabama in the SECCG was a given is really stupid. Until Saban is gone they will always be one of the top 2-3 teams in CFB.

The gap is closing, but the Alabama program is a really well oiled machine.
