“This LSU team plays with different intangibles and isn’t only trying to run the ball like in the past. They play tempo now at times and have an effective QB. It will be a bigger challenge with what they do now than what they presented in the past.”

I give us a chance simply for not trying to run into a brick wall like Les was so set on doing. He was never going to beat them again.

pumping us up so they'll have a more quality loss at the end and can make the playoffs at 11-1 again not having to play in the SECCG

Les would still have his job and would have retired as a LSU legend if he would have just realized that running between the tackles 85% of the time against Bama just wasn’t going to work. Scoring 6 points in regulation worked once, but you can’t try to recreate that every single game after. Bama sure didn’t.

If Bama doesn't play in the SECCG, then they are out.

All of these teams will get into the CFP before a 1 loss, non-SEC champ Bama:

1 loss SEC champ (LSU/UGA/UK)
1 loss Big 10 champ (UM/OSU)
1 loss ACC champ (Clemson)
1 loss Big 12 Champ (OU)
1 loss Pac 12 Champ (WSU)
Undefeated and maybe 1 loss ND

Coach O has done that too against Bama.

Difference this year is we have been running a more varied offense all year and have the QB to do it against Bama.

DC can no longer just play golf all week they actually have to study game film and can't use the prior years gameplan

He said Joe Burrow reminds him of Andy Dalton while Nick Brossette has Le'Veon Bell qualities. The LSU defensive scheme reminds him of the Ravens.*

Saban doing whatever he can to try to keep his team motivated. Bama is probably tired of hearing how they haven’t played anyone...I have a feeling they are going to make LSU a statement game.

Each and every year the team and talent factor has consistently been there for LSU! It’s time to execute what the team knows it can do! Yes, unfairly losing Devin the 1st half sucks, but pull together that LSU will Show up & show out! #geauxtigers

This was the turning point in both saban and miles’ careers. At that point they each had a championship and les was largely thought of as being in saban’s league.

Saban learned he would have to change his outdated offense, opened it up in the nc game and went on to upgrade oc , hired Kiffin, etc.

Les became more resolved to never change his offensive philosophy and it ruined him.

What is/was considered one of LSU’s greatest wins changed the entire landscape of college football for a decade. In a bad way.

We’ve had near equal or better talent than Bama almost every year (including this one) but miles’ gameplan could only keep it close, would never really challenge bama with a predictable offense.

Disagree, Miles was forever changed by Jarrett Lee’s 2008 season. We played conservative following that year. Go back and look at the 2009 Florida game, same offensive strategy. It started for Miles with J.Lee’s 16ints and an abortion of a year.

Saban has to paint us as the best team in football or his schedule will take a hit, this game legitimizes Bama schedule.
