Never said it was a recruiting violation. Is an extra inducment provided to student athletes NOT MADE AVAILABLE TO OTHER UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.

Coaches can host their playrs for " occasional " meals at their homes. Provideing boat rides is the violation. If a coach cannot provide transportation to a player across campus for classes do you think providing boat ridng experiences is allowed.

I don't give a damn what SAban did at LSU he did not provide boating.

Yes, its minor and petty, but the NCAA has rules against what he did. Either he broke a rule or he didn't . I say he did. Instead of the a-hole ad hominem attacks from some of you why not provide proof this is permissible.

I try not to worry about Alabama Recruiting anymore. As long as Mark Emmert is it his position at the NCAA nothing will ever become of anything against Alabama recruiting. After since that paper trail Yahoo sports uncovered on the offensive lineman who came out and tweeted he took money”Fluker” and nothing ever happened. I gave up

Few years back Luther Davis was caught being the go between an agent and Fluker among other bama players, Kirk H said on Game Day that there is a paper trail and things were going to be rough for Saban and Bama going forward, BUT NOTHING HAPPEN!!!!! ESPN hushed everyone on their network up! Bleacher Report - Alabama was caught moving kids from 1 High School to another so they could control their grades, BUT NOTHING HAPPEN !!! They do not have to play by the same rules as the rest of CFB

Wrong, dumbass.

“Student-athletes may not receive any benefits or privileges that are not provided to ALL EMPLOYEES (e.g., meals, cars, entertainment at home, vacations, etc.).”

Do you think that employees of the University of Alabama are barred from Saban’s home?

I will refrain from the personalized attacks you seem to think justify your positions.

I would agree with you but then we weould both be wrong.

So please provide the foundation fo ryour assertion that student athletes may not receive benefits which are not provided to all employees of teh university. How is that relevant? The players are not employees.

The rule is the university and its representatives ( including coaches) cannot provide benefits and services to players not available to other students.. The occaisonal meals are permissible. Providng access to a boat is not allowed.

So? Is a boat (that he owns) ride something of economic value?

I copied DIRECTLY out of the NCAA Handbook. You’re looking at Boosters, not coaches. You keep adding that in to maintain your outrage. Team bonding things are NOT impermissible benefits. When LSU goes bowling, or to Blue Bayou, as a group, are the walking? Paying their own way?

I’m done. Enjoy your pointless and useless outrage. Better yet, contact Alabama Compliance and the NCAA. Just don’t forget to report back to us their laughter.

Once again you are just flat wrong.

THIS is copied right from the NCAA handbook:

16.11 Benefits, Gifts and Services. [A]
16.11.1 Permissible. [A]
16.11.1.1 General Rule. [A] [b]Receipt of a benefit (including otherwise prohibited extra benefits per Bylaw
16.11.2) by student-athletes, their family members or friends is not a violation of NCAA rules if it is demonstratedthat the same benefit is generally available to the institution’s students and their family members or
friends

16.11.1.5 Occasional Meals. [A] A student-athlete or the entire team in a sport may receive an occasional
meal in the locale of the institution on infrequent and special occasions from an institutional staff member. An
institutional staff member may provide reasonable local transportation to student-athletes to attend such meals.
A student-athlete or the entire team in a sport may receive an occasional meal from a representative of athleticsinterests on infrequent and special occasions under the following conditions:
(a) The meal may only be provided in an individual’s home, on campus or at a facility that is regularly used
for home competition and may be catered

16.11.2 Nonpermissible. [A]
16.11.2.1 General Rule. [A] The student-athlete shall not receive any extra benefit. The term “extra benefit”
refers to any special arrangement by an institutional employee or representative of the institution’s athletics intereststo provide the student-athlete or his or her family members or friends with a benefit not expressly authorizedby NCAA legislation.
16AWARDS AND BENEFITS
212
16.11.2.2 Other Prohibited Benefits. [A] An institutional employee or representative of the institution’s
athletics interests may not provide a student-athlete with extra benefits or services, including, but not limited to:

[R] (Revised: 8/7/14)
(a) A loan of money;
(b) A guarantee of bond;
(c) An automobile or the use of an automobile;
(d) Transportation (e.g., a ride home with a coach), except as permitted in Bylaw 16.9.1, even if the studentathletereimburses the institution or the staff member for the appropriate amount of the gas or expense;
or
(e) Signing or co-signing a note with an outside agency to arrange a loan

Providing access to entertainment is allowed. But you already knew that. Your problem is the AD hired a guy without the means to provide the same type of entertainment as the other folks guy. In addition to that, the other folks big wigs built this Saban a hell of a lot better home base to entertain and recruit out of. That's a pizzer but maybe you need to head up a funding program to get O in a better shape financially to entertain. Hell he was living in an apt when he was HC @ USC! Go big or go home.

Please identify in the rule book where providing entertainment is allowed. The coaches can occasionally host them for meals. Providing boat riding is a violation as it has an enumerated expense- the cost of the boat, maintenance and gas.
