You are reaching for the plate while running and sliding and the catcher sticks the ball in front of you on a bang bang play. How are you gonna avoid that.
Was he supposed to give himself up and not try to get back to the plate?
It should be like targeting where there has to be evidence of intent such as loading up for contact.

Intent is always subjective. That is the problem with intent calls.
