Not sure if this was posted or not, apologies if it was, but this is Theriot explaining the strike outs and LSU’s overall hitting philosophy.

I don’t know enough to know if he is right, but he sure sounds like he knows what he is talking about
What I found interesting as well is he legit calls out the coaching on the team straight up. He doesn’t tip toe around it

I agree. He certainly went in hot. I tend to believe Theriot when he gets serious talking about baseball.

Theriot is a little fella who made an MLB career for himself. Those guys usually know technique and approach.

Theriot could have kept playing MLB but he didn't want to miss his entire kid's childhoods lives.
I'm guessing if he wants to coach somewhere down the line when his kids get older maybe he pursues that but for now with his MLB pension and running Traction that's probably enough on his plate.
I really can't see Theriot being an assistant for anyone but if that's what it takes getting into the college game than he may have to do that.

It’s the same all or nothing approach that’s being preached in the big leagues filtering down to college

That approach is not fine when your contact is single

Waaat? You must not watch very much MLB. Watch the big hitters in more than 1 at bat and you'll see their approach changes based on the situation. If a guy like Bryce Harper is leading off an inning of course he's coming out hacking. If he get's up to the plate with runners in scoring position with less than 2 outs his approach is different. He's still hunting first pitch fastball but he will absolutely try to put the ball in play depending on the situation.
That's where some of LSU's hitters could use some work. There is no reason for some of these kids to be swinging out of their shoes with men on base. It's insane.

One of our main problems, and it has been for years under Maineri, is that all of our players are 5'-9" 165. Watch us in any series against and SEC opponent and we are madly undersized. I don't understand why we can't go out and recruit a couple of mashers to offset all of our midget clones.

When he talked about how all these kids parents come to him and want him to help their kids generate power and he’s like 1. You have to have a great swing and your kids swing is crap...
I was like Snap! Ole Brittany ain’t gonna like you talking about her Brayden like that

Do you want to bench him? Or, maybe cut him from the roster?
All the other players are taller than 5'9".
GTFOH with your mythical "facts."
