Id be hyped too if I was a BAMA homer...LSU rolls out a rootey poo offense against them the past decade...they win, and proceed to make the SECG. Its the same dang formula almost every year. I cant imagine not one good CFB team out there that wouldn't be hyped to play LSU because a Win versus LSU (most of the time) gives them legitimacy to the CFP committee.

You cant. Each side knows that game stands between them and post season play. This is like trying to say you have a putt to win the Masters but it just like your old Sunday foursome...

if our offense can ever score against those guys, then it will be a 4 quarter game.

This is pathetic.

This. Tired of hearing people say that shite. How the hell can they act like it’s not the most important game of the year? If Bama players can play up to expectations then so can LSU. The O-Line needs to step up and quit playing like bitches. Plain and simple.

Bama, outplayed LSU and Saban simply out coached Oregon. There’s no excuses this year, with the loaded roster LSU has. The O Line is our only weakness.

We treat Bama like A&M and Arkansas treat us. And Bama thinks of us the same way we think of Aggies and Arkies.

I agree. Don't talk about this game too much, don't give Bama any bulletin board stuff and practice light to have fresh legs, and preach just go out there and have fun

You can bet Saban wants LSU a "lil extra" than the others.

I know you were talking about regular season games, but have to think the other tigers (Clemson) is the team since they have beat BAMA twice and just embarrassed them last year.

The best example I can think of to illustrate your point is when we played Oregon in game one of 2011. All we heard all summer long was how talented they were, the fast pace of play, etc. Miles had us ready for that game. It might have been his best job of coaching for a game while at LSU. Coach O needs to do a similar job for Bama. Week to week, get it in the players’ minds.

It's a huge game for several factors -

1.) They took what would have been an unprecedented season (2011 NC Game) away from us. We haven't beaten them since.

2.) They're in the championship hunt every year and in our way.

3.) Division Rivals. We recruit against them for the best players.

4.) Ultimately, they are in a sport we want to be in.

5.) Yea, the coach thing. We still don't like him because he's there.

I agree

It just seems there's too much media talk regarding all of this during the 2 weeks leading up to the game. Heavy pressure is applied on LSU to get the win while Bama is laser focused on keeping the winning streak alive.

6.) And lastly - go look at their schedule this season. Who is beating them during the regular season?

Their OOC schedule is a joke and their 2 bye weeks precede the A&M and LSU games respectively. It's a pampered schedule that Bama should easily walk through to the playoffs.

Nick Saban knows to make his guys listen to LSU interviews for 2 weeks straight leading up to that game. LSU fans and players make the game too big, and we talk too much. It backfires every time.

Seems to have backfired on Bama too, Saban said as much after that LSU game.

I totally agree, I don't like this idea of "oh, we kept it vanilla so our opponents down the schedule won't know what we're doing ". You can save some stuff but you need to run and execute most of your plays in "live" game situations so when you play the stronger teams you have the confidence of executing "in games" and not just in practice.

Great coaches are great motivators and they will always find something to get their team hyped.

It’s really not that the players aren’t ready for the game. It’s Bamas front 7 just being straight monsters over our blocking and a lack of a counter active game plan by LSU coaches. We did fairly well against Tua but when you just keep getting put back on the field because of the offense You will not hold them down when the get that many plays off

I could easily name 13 teams that need to beat bama.. it’s not just like every game ... especially if we’re both undefeated in November ??

Maybe so...was talking about SEC Regular Season

Clemson's Peach Bowl 25 - 24 Victory over LSU in 2012 is what catapulted their program to the next level. One has to wonder if LSU would have Won if Clemson would be Who they are now.

I was listening to Ryan Clark on mascona’s podcast. He said when he met Quentin Williams before the draft at espn he told him he loved the video he narrated for Bama week. He said Bama watched it 10 times and got all of them hyped. Ryan said hey that wasn’t for yall. We need to start treating the Bama game like any other week. When we make it a big deal Bama feeds off of that and that is all Nick Saban.

I think the whole "#freeDevinWhite" stuff really pissed Nick off. During his coach's show, he was asked what would they choose if they won the coin toss. His response was, "How about we elect to kick their arse."

Nick probably says that a lot to his players, just like every coach. But, he doesn't say it in public too often.

They took the "LSU is missing its best player" narrative personally and had a mission to keep us from scoring and making any defensive breakdown an excuse for us losing.

I look at the Bama game every season and think of a specific scene from Top Gun. During a training flight, Maverick, Goose and two other pilots encounter their instructor and Ace pilot Viper... upon hearing their instructor over the radio one of Maverick's wingmen utters the phrase "Oh shite, it's Viper!" Goose gets in his surprise as well "Viper's up here? Great...oh shite!"

Maverick with that cocky, shite-eating grin on his face replies "Yeah and he's probably thinking 'holy shits it's Maverick and Goose.'"

That's the attitude we need to have towards Alabama. Not "holy shite its Alabama." We need to have the mindset that they are saying to themselves, "Holy shite, it's LSU"

we need to win the mental battle as well as the battle on the field. we're gonna beat those bastards this year.
