I was listening to Ryan Clark on mascona’s podcast. He said when he met Quentin Williams before the draft at espn he told him he loved the video he narrated for Bama week. He said Bama watched it 10 times and got all of them hyped. Ryan said hey that wasn’t for yall. We need to start treating the Bama game like any other week. When we make it a big deal Bama feeds off of that and that is all Nick Saban.

Not gonna happen. Every single press conference includes Ed talking about how we need to beat Bama.

Coach O has won me over, but if I'm a player and hes constantly talking about the need to beat Alabama, then I'm feeling a lot of pressure come November.

Ed is too honest sometimes. Just another game, just another week. It's not, of course. But you're right. It should be treated as such.

Losing to Bama has had more to do with the talent of the players on the LOS than "hype".

Nick Saban knows to make his guys listen to LSU interviews for 2 weeks straight leading up to that game. LSU fans and players make the game too big, and we talk too much. It backfires every time.

Just hope the guys treat it like any other game. Don't need to wake bama up prior to the game like we have for 7 years straight.

Our talent is comparable. It's a mental block.

I'm sick of the talent excuse. Our roster is stacked 9 times out of 10.

Etling had receivers wide open for TDs three separate times and overthrew.

Its mental. We just dont execute.

Yes, but that has to be consistently echoed, and your play has to reflect that. It can't just be lip service.

For instance, us going "vanilla" vs Ga Sou would not be consistent with us taking the game as seriously as we do Bama.

It was just a slow death, if our offense can ever score against those guys, then it will be a 4 quarter game.

Its a big game. The atmosphere gets both teams hyped up, not just the Tigers. I actually think we have a better shot on the road this year because we play tight at home vs them.

He states it because it’s all he hears and gets asked about it often. He’s said it’s like any week. A lot of Sec coaches especially in the West know and say they gotta best bama. Miles is the one who put too much pressure on his team because he was almost obsessed with beating Saban. The “ we coming “ quote after the loss when O said that became a popular meme. I think O knows that he needs to calm his team down bama week. It would help if so many fans in the state didn’t obsess about it and mention it 1000xs a year to players and staff.

Whatever. I thought he says that they "block out the noise." More talk, you can't just say stuff because it sounds good.

When cbs made it a prime time game is when it felt like too much pressure. That was also when saban started to get Louisiana recruits we wanted that he couldn’t get before they beat us in the championship game.

Bright side, Joe Burrow seems to embrace that adversity.

That man got laid out by UCF, got right back up and fricked them.

I dont think Bama is in his head at all.

Everyone has Saban envy and wishes they went to Bama. Losers.

Until we can match them on the line of scrimmage nothing will change. We can have all the great corners, tailbacks and receivers we want but we don’t stand a chance getting blown off the ball at the snap. This is the year to change that narrative. We match up well with them on defense it’s just a question if our o-line can open holes and give Burrow at least 2.6 seconds to get a throw off.

In the last 5 years, Bama has had 20 linemen drafted, LSU has had 9 drafted. Our talent on the LOS hasn't been as good, and that has been the biggest factor in the games.

The Bama game is not just any other game and it will never be treated as such.

They are the team that keeps us from winning the West the SEC and in turn, the CFP.

So yeah, it's a big fricking deal and should be treated as such.

Everybody knows that Saban sees LSU as a bigger rival than Auburn.

His players have admitted it too.

Playing Bama now for me is like playing Florida in the 90s and early 2000s. We just can’t get that monkey off our back. We didn’t start beating Florida until spurrier left. I have the same feeling that we won’t start beating Bama until saban retires or stays too long like Bobby Bowden and joe paterno.
