then I'm feeling a lot of pressure come November.
Well that would make sense because there is a lot of pressure to beat Bama. The road to every goal we have this year is going to run right thru Tuscaloosa! No need to hide it, all the players know that!

Yep Bama gets up for us, and even Nick said it was a statement game last year. As long as they're at the top of the SEC mountain it won't change.
And if our guys go too heavy on the 'just another game' mantra then Nick can say "See, they don't respect us!"

It’s a lose lose situation lol

It's a huge game for several factors -
1.) They took what would have been an unprecedented season (2011 NC Game) away from us. We haven't beaten them since.
2.) They're in the championship hunt every year and in our way.
3.) Division Rivals. We recruit against them for the best players.
4.) Ultimately, they are in a sport we want to be in.
5.) Yea, the coach thing. We still don't like him because he's there.
6.) And lastly - go look at their schedule this season. Who is beating them during the regular season?

I fixed it. I'm tired of this narrative. We have just as much talent as anyone in this country. Example: Quinnen Williams was the 20th rated DT in 2015. We signed three DTs rated higher than him in the same class (Lawrence, Alexander, Logan).
I'm sure I can dig up multiple offensive line recruiting comparisons just like that one.

I actually think we have a better shot on the road this year because we play tight at home vs them.
How beautiful would it be if we go there and just slaughter them by surprise. Go in with the world expecting another Bama beat down of LSU and leave with a 42-10 win. Joe Burrow leaves with 487 yards passing and 75 yards rushing. O rips his shirt off during the post game interview and Saban stares at the ground while saying “uhh” and “ummm” more than 50 times during his. The college football world is speechless until two days later when they pick up their jaws off the floor.
LSU vs. Bama in a rematch for the title starts to creep into the national conversation.
We meet for the title and beat them 2-0 with a lone safety after Tua gets sacked in their own end zone as time expires to end the game.
Saban spits in O’s face during their handshake and O beats the shite out of him. O gets fired, Saban retires, and charges against O are dropped since the national title game is in NOLA. O goes out on top and gets immortalized with a statue of him punching Saban on my front lawn with a plaque that reads, “;lkjasdp t;lkajdf twelkjsdf ;lhtehslkdjf vbknb!!!”

Get that bullshite outta here
Devin white was a 4-star athlete and bama signed two 5-star LBs in the same class that couldn't hold his jock.
the fact is you really don't know who the light is going to come on for when they move up to the next level.

The offense is the key. All they need is to open up the offense and pull off one solid drive to show them that they belong on the same field and get them to just exhale, loosen up, and play as well as they can. When the play calling immediately clams up and gets conservative that's when Alabama smells blood and it just spirals from there.
In all seriousness, this is 100% true. Just relax and play some football. Don’t let Bama smell fear.

We might have comparable talent in most areas, but we do not in the trenches. Only an effing moron things we did. Games are won in the trenches.
Our talent is comparable. It's a mental block.

This exactly. Putting so much emphasis on one game is a lose-lose situation. If you lose, the players begin to check out because the failed their big goal for the season. If you win, the players feel like they've completed their big goal, and wind down.
Feels like this happens to a lot of teams.

The we ain't backing down speech was great and the players should have heard it, but he should have left it in the locker room. He should know Satan's going to use whatever we can give him.

I see what you're saying and agree with you to a degree, but honestly, there's no reason that with the talent we have that any team should beat us 8 years in a row because "they're hyped" because we're equally hyped to play them every year if not more so.
Posted on 8/16/19 at 2:55 pm to Byrdybyrd05
Hype has nothing to do w the arse whippings

In the last 5 years, Bama has had 20 linemen drafted, LSU has had 9 drafted. Our talent on the LOS hasn't been as good, and that has been the biggest factor in the games.
how about we compare LSU's oline talent to the teams that HAVE beat bama over the past 8 years?
Auburn, aTm, Ole Miss, Clemson, and Oklahoma all have relatively close talent level on the line that LSU does/should have...or less in some cases
The difference is schematic. Hell, just look at the offensive styles run by those teams i just mentioned. Its pretty obvious.

We play inexplicably better in Tuscaloosa.
That has not been true the last few times LSU has been up there.

Not gonna happen. Every single press conference includes Ed talking about how we need to beat Bama. Coach O has won me over, but if I'm a player and hes constantly talking about the need to beat Alabama, then I'm feeling a lot of pressure come November. Ed is too honest sometimes. Just another game, just another week. It's not, of course. But you're right. It should be treated as such.
That’s why Saban’s approach is so successful. He preaches focus on the process of executing and getting better until you become the best you can be. He doesn’t let the players put their focus on big games, or championships or results. Just focus on doing your job in practice and in games whether your team is up or down. That’s where the consistency comes from. A person who is motivated to become the best version of themselves will naturally rise to the occasion when tested.

Well we have to be honest with ourselves as fans we blow this game out of proportion which ads lots of media pressure as well. Those who think players don’t read this shite are not paying attention to the real world.
