I used to summer camp as a youth at LSU in the late 80s - early 90s.

I got accosted at the Highland Cafeteria by some football players for wearing my hat while I was eating. I must have been noticeably upset, because Karl Dunbar came over and sat down to eat lunch with me.

A few summers later, I would hang out (or maybe annoy.... he humored me, I guess) with Geert Hammink between classes.

I'm pretty sure I saw the bad Hilliard kid (Ivory?) selling *something* behind Power Hall one night.

I once had to duck into a classroom doorway in the Allen Hall basement, because Shaq and Stanley were walking side by side, filling up the entire hallway, and I didn't have anywhere else to go.

ETA: A few years back, I would semi-regularly play pickup basketball with Todd Kinchen.

Played against Corey Webster in basketball back in high school. Freak of an athlete. witnessed him do a windmill and a 360 on us. Guys is like 6'1" at best.

Saw Laron Landry working out his back at the rec during the summer before his senior year. I had never been so impressed at the muscle definition of someone's back.

Ran into, literally ran into Joe Addai going after a loose ball playing basketball. I'm pretty big and at that time was about my peak of strength when i was working out. I was a good 240 and strong and still athletic. I normally have to let up so i don't kill people when i run into them playing basketball but i figured he could take it. That dude just trucked through me. Could not believe how solid he was. I thought i was strong, no one ever did that to me, and if Addai was that much stronger, how strong is fricking Patrick Willis or Steven Jackson? Scares me to think about having to tackle those guys or being hit by NFL LB's.

I was watching the team offload the buses near the locker room at the stadium not realizing a car had pulled up behind me. Nick saban opened his door into me and the door cut my calf. At the time I thought it was awesome!

--Got knocked nearly unconscious on a sweep by Tony Moss when he was a senior at Bossier and I was a freshman DE (in for one play) at Shreve. He was running full speed and I weighed 160 lbs.

--Got in to two separate, unrelated fender benders with The Flying Dutchman, Gert Hammink. The first time he ran the stop sign at Stadium and Fieldhouse/Dalrymple and he hit the side of my Olds 98 Regency with his four-door Cutlass.

The second time neither of us would yield on infirmary road and we sideswiped each other because we both drove gigantic '80's GM cars and that street is really narrow.

The first time was a little tense but we both let it go, the second time we got out of our cars and looked at each other like, "You again?" and then let it go.

Watched Jordan Jefferson kick Wn acquaintance in the face while he was on the ground at Shadys. Also after the fight got drunk with TBob. He was hilarious.

Used to play pick up bball with Brandon Bass and his little brother at my high school gym.

I know he's not an LSU athlete but we played against Julio Jones at a basketball tournament in Alabama. Most freak athlete I've ever seen.

I locked down Josh Reed for 1 play. And talked mad shite!

Josh Reed came to take a golf lesson at Santa Maria with my old partner Chris Burkstaller. I told Reed I could shut him down for 1 play, he laughed, I insisted! So we got it on. With Burkstaller at QB I lined up on the driving range with inside technique on Reed and got in his head! As soon as the ball was hiked I corner blitzed! Sacked the qb (Burkstaller) Reed turned around 30 yards downfield shaking his head! Corner blitz sack lunch. Belitnikof winner held catch less! I might out that on my gravestone!!

Probably my best memory from teaching at that god awful mismanaged facility!

Grandfather and Dale Brown were boys while I was growing up. Coach Brown sent me a birthday card a few times. Howard Carter held me up so I could make my first dunk. Played 3 years of Dixie Youth and American Legion with Tommy Banks in WM.

Took Louisiana Politics at LSU with Eddie Furniss - took that class more serious than anyone. Of course, he's a doctor now and I'm on TD.

Harvey Williams- see him at LSU and party with him at Kingfish/Cowboys

Slip Wadkins- Good friend at LSU

Karl Dunbar- Played basketball and track against him in high school and good friends at LSU

Jeff Wickersham- Good friends with him during my years at LSU

Tony Houston- had a class with him and he hardly ever showed up, like one of the guys mentioned above with the baseball players

Played pool at Freds with Henry "Too Tough" Thomas

Eric Andolsek- Was there at Freds when he picked up a band member by the neck and raised him up, due to that band playing Sweet Home Alabama after Bama just beat our arse in BR

Chris Jackson- Played BB against him at Red Lerilles in Lafayette

Me and an ex LSU player shaved a girl's twat in a Pattaya bar in Thailand. Well, I did it, and he was my wing man and lathered her up with a bit of soap and Heineken

Had a few drinks with Jaime Howard a few times

Dalton Hilliard- Hung out with Dalton and Jonnie Jones in BR and Dalton one time in New Orleans. Me and a friend were supposed to play B Ball against the 2 for ages. That was 15 or more years ago when we started wanting to bet. I don't see them since I live in UAE and Thailand. Heck I'm in Bali right now writing this!!

Enough for now, gotta golf tournament tomorrow

When I was a kid, we bought a horse from Ben McDonald's family. I think this was either his senior year in high school or his freshman year at LSU.
His dad and my step dad worked together and were good friends. When Ben got his first baseball card after being drafted, he signed it and sent it to me.

Went to high school with Markeith Spears. Same school Trindon Holiday went to. I remember way back in the day some of Trindons family members telling about him and how fast he was. They knew early on his natural speed had the potential to be special.

I took batting practice off of Ronnie Rantz in 93 and went yard on him twice. I had just turned 14 at the time. When we were done, I looked back and was swarmed by coaches watching me. A couple of them even approached me afterwards and took down my name and number, told me I had what it takes to make it to the majors if I kept it up. Too bad I got my first car the following year and screwed all of that up.

Played basketball against Mo in high school. It wasn't even funny how athletic that kid was.

My dad knows Tre White's mom. Talks to her at least once a month. We waited with her after the Florida game with the other parents outside the locker room this weekend. Kid seemed very well mannered and respectful.

Went to high school with Rantz. He had English 1st period, fell asleep in class. Everyone snuck out of class leaving him there when the bell rang. I didn't have same English class until 6th period in a 7 period day. He woke up during our class and looked around like what the hell, then got his stuff together and left. It was hilarious!
