How do people keep saying this? Its never counted against our ADs before when hiring assistant football coaches.
Valid point but Alleva partially contributed to the situation in the first place by not agreeing to pay Chavis. And also he has set the budget that Miles has to work with (according to mytigger). We don't know what that budget is but we can assume it's no more than they offered Chief.

Alleva doesn't budget each position.
He budgets the staff as a whole.
Alleva isn't making the decision on who to hire at DC. People who say this have no clue

Pendergast and Orgeron would be the picks Id love to see

But by giving les a limit on much we can pay he is possibly effecting the quality of the hire.

And, like I said earlier, we are looking for a new DC because of Alleva. His wagon is hitched to this hire, period.

When your AD has one of the highest paid coaching staffs and then tries to cut spending it absolutely is his fricking fault. If spending is an issue now then he should have thought of that before he gave the ok

I don't understand this at all. Since when are the margins tight? Do we not have a new revenue stream via the SEC Network contract? Were we not turning a profit prior to the SEC Network? Is TAF not raking in the cash? We're building new, multimillion dollar facilities for tennis, gymnastics, renovating the OPS center, building a multimillion dollar nutrition center, renovating the TS West club, but we can't pay top dollar for a defensive coordinator for the revenue generating sport? GTFO LSU AD.

We can afford it. There is clearly some dysfunction between the AD and HC/DC. That's why the AD is 100% tied to this hire. By letting Chavis walk, he interjected himself in the football program in a big way. Now he has to own the results.

It's all hearsay. Nobody rely know for sure that miles absolutely has a budget.
