We've used FIVE starters this season when we had two mid-week games.

4 CWS starters.
So LSU would be the only team in Omaha who doesn't have 4 weekend starters?

How about we get past Jackson St before we start telling Mainieri what he needs to do to win in Omaha?

But frankly, I don't think PM would drop a four-year (healthy) senior off the post-season roster. That would send the wrong message to future players who are considering sticking it out for their senior year.

This. While Edwards would not be going anywhere after last year, it's still a nice gesture.

This isn't another USL thread. I know Jackson St. is the focus. But the Laird injury presented a question so I asked it.

I because, and you're not going to like my reasoning, that you think you know more about what the team needs to win a regional than Mainieri and/or Alan Dunn know. I damn sure realize they know more than what I know about what is needed.

This argument is so tired. Are we not supposed to discuss things like this on an LSU message board?

Ibarra would go to short with TM at third

Has Ibarra played short at all this year? I can see them doing this if they need offense and have to use pinch hitters, but I highly doubt they would want to try an experiment with those two late in a game if we have a lead.

I'm not saying Yocom is a great defensive player or anything, but I don't recall anyone other than him playing there when Bregman wasn't in the game...and he also went in to play 3rd instead of moving Moore over late in the Alabama game.

I have friends with that attitude towards reassessing coaching decisions and I just want to punch them in the neck.

He came here as a SS. That's his natural position.

Experiment? Kid has played SS all his life and was recruited for the spot.

I'm well aware he played SS prior to this year. I asked if he has played it this year. He was also about 20 pounds lighter when he was recruited as a SS.

But even ignoring that, I clearly said with "those two" meaning the combination of him at short and Moore at 3rd.

Moore has been Ibarra's backup all year.

I don't remember for certain, but I think so. But only like late game, mid week when they were getting other guys in. I could be mistaken though, as the Hawthorne was delivering the information and I was a having a beer or two.

It was only one game and it was early in the season. But like I said, I could be mistaken.

Yocom played 3rd in the 9th against Alabama last week. Moore could have easily moved over, but they chose not to.
