In fairness he may not be saying the Gov. SHOULD be able to fire professors, merely that Landry WOULD DO SO.

He is a professor but does not have a PhD, he seems to be a liberal democrat, he has work most of his career as a government bureaucrat and political staffer and is always complaining about LSU sports, but he has never worked in private enterprise so he doesn’t understand!

Mann is a provocateur but LSU faculty generated significantly more revenue than LSU athletics in FY 21-22.
Athletics had a great year, 199 Million in gross Rev, 6 million surplus. Few schools can top that.
LSU Faculty research totaled 324 million in external funding in FY 21-22, and does not include state allocations or tuition. Also does not include research funded at either medical campus, which is significant

It's a state university. Firing one state employee who repeatedly violates the faculty code of conduct has zero effect on the size of government.
And if you somehow believe political influence doesn't affect hiring and firing on university campuses all the time, you are grossly out of touch with reality. It usually happens to people of a wholly opposite worldview than Bob Mann has, but there it is nonetheless.
What's more, absolutely no one will miss him or his "contributions" to the LSU journalism school, which chiefly consist of terrorizing students who don't parrot his partisan Democrat politics and spending his work time attacking those with whom he disagrees on Twitter.

He’s annoying because he attacks Football to try and bring light to university funding.
