He sang some of the best bonfire/cooking and drinking songs that ever got put on a playlist.
Always heard he put on a damn good show. Never got to see him. I wish could have been there, though.

Poor Charlotte Johnson

Probably one of the more underrated country artists of all time. He didn’t do a lot of promotional stuff so people forget about him a lot but all of his albums are good if not great.

I never got to see him live, but I wish I could have been there for that.

I’m sure someone will bring some kind of dessert over to her and her family.
They’ll have to keep that brother of hers away from it though, or he’ll sit on the sofa and eat the whole thing.

True story.
My mom worked for the county attorney here in Mayfield. His brother was Kent Robbins, a songwriter in Nashville. Kent wrote John’s “Straight Tequila Night” and “I Wish I Could’ve Been There.” When Kent was killed in a car accident in 1998, Mom was invited to the funeral and John was there along with The Judds.
Kent’s most popular song he wrote was “Every Light in the House” by Trace Adkins.

I clicked thinking you were talking about the political commentator and former Deputy Prime Minister of Australia

Damn, that sucks.
I recall reading that when he moved to Nashville he worked as a roofer to pay the bills. One of the jobs he worked on was putting a new roof on the Ryman.
I've always thought his song Mississippi Moon was vastly underrated.
