It doesn’t matter how many protest.

Lipsey’s column had more impact than tens of thousands of protesters.

We'll see how long this takes. My guess is they won't make a move against the idiots in charge until after this "investigation" is finished.

Bump (since Lester Earl claims it’s a “small and delusional minority” who are sick of Alleva and Alexander)

Geez, we haven't won jack shite under Alleva. That's not skips fault. I don't disagree about the ego thing. But for fricks sake, we have 1 fricking golf championship under Alleva. At least skip was a winner.

But we have 10 different teams in the top 10! Hardware has lost its meaning at LSU

Right now their temporary replacements have to be identified and a tentative agreement reached to serve as interims.

Once that had been completed the timetable is anyone's guess. I'd have to think it will be after LSU is out of the tournament.

Alleva knows he's a lame duck. He's in the same position Dell Demps was in during January.

I'm hearing from unreputable sources that Alleva has reached out to Mike Dunleavy about the LSU Basketball head coaching position. Alleva believes he has really turned the Tulane basketball program around.

I wonder what his response will be when the "small delusional minority", that actually holds the political power, cleans house at LSU.

could argue they are retards for putting themselves in huge amounts of debt while getting a degree that won't make that money back.

So people should forgo education simply because the system is corrupt? I’d take the hit on my credit for not paying back a student loan and graduating and getting a job that actually makes a living wage rather than barely getting by on at a minimum wage job because I have no education. The worst thing they do (generally) when people don’t pay their student loans is take their tax returns until it’s paid back. I know several people who they did that to and they are all living far better off because they got a degree than they would have if they hadn’t. And all they gave up was their tax refund for a few years. They didn’t even miss the money. I don’t know why this isn’t an automatic option for people to pay for their education. Could easily set it up on the W-2 form. Everyone gets something in that deal and since the money is automatically taken in every check, people don’t miss it. This would also keep people’s credit scores from taking a hit thusly they would be able to get financed for more purchases, (like cars and housing) further stimulating the economy.

Lipsey is a powerful voice to have on our side. Alexander and Alleva must go

Lipsey's column has now been picked up by Baton Rouge Business Report.
quote:

The former head of Louisiana’s higher education board is calling for the resignation of LSU President King Alexander.

quote:

In an opinion blog piece posted online March 15, Richard Lipsey, who served as chairman of the Louisiana Board of Regents from 2016-2018, blasts Alexander for his “lack of leadership” at LSU on recent athletic controversies, scandals within the Greek system and a new holistic admissions policy that takes effect this year.

quote:

Lipsey says he has had more than 104,000 views on the Put Louisiana First Facebook page and received several dozen emails voicing support for his position. Daily Report could not independently verify his Facebook metrics.

LSU declines to comment. Board of Supervisors Chairman James Williams, a Metairie attorney, did not return a call seeking comment in time for publication.

I have always viewed Lipsey as a guy that likes to stay behind the curtains. He has quietly be a mover and shaker in BR and LSU for decades. Why this, now? It seems very out of character, almost like he is panicing about something? Ideas?

It means he (and other big boosters) are growing very weary of this administration. They move behind the scenes most times. When they come out in public, they mean business.
