Hopefully he didn't leave any trails back to himself. I know he is crafty. But I don't think he has every taken on foes like this.

It was a message to the governor. He basically said, 'do this now or I'll see to it that one of your opponents unseats you.'

With everything that is swirling around, this seems counter-productive. People need to circle the wagons, not have a circular firing squad. Can't have all the rats turning on each other. That plays right into the hands of the enemy as they look to turn more people.

You are the only enemy in this thread, and everyone knows what your agenda is.

Every post you put up is to grandstand and babble. You think way too highly of yourself as evidenced by the hundreds of downvotes you get. Just to remind you, you’re full of crap!
It is you that doesn’t have a grasp on anything, napoleon.

Offhand I would venture to say he might be in the thousands of downvotes. Otherwise I completely agree with you.

Rich people buying thier way into influential positions is EXACTLY what is wrong with Louisiana.
Im not saying this guy is a bad person, or doesnt live LSU. I just dont always think the rich guy knows best.

He really lost me when he called out LSU for weighting ACT scores less in its admissions decisions. There is lots and lots of recent research that suggests that prioritizing standardized test scores is inversely correlated to students who are successful in the classroom. It’s no mystery why the best schools don’t make their admissions decisions on the basis of a single test score.

Typical businessman trying to run a university. Here, he’s looking at applicants like they’re a product being offered by a wholesaler who’s selling at a better price point, with a lower quality. That sort of input is not needed and should not be welcome, at the cost of watering down the quality of LSU’s admissions.

I’d like to see the methods and results of this research. I’m not really a “use test scores only” believer, but I certainly think they are an indicator.
But I didn’t read the column the way you did. I read the contention here was that Alexander made unilateral changes to admissions without going through the proper procedure, and that those admissions “policies” are now too loosely defined...which is a dangerous precedent.

Exactly. He's 80 years old. He knows one thing, and that is how to make money, and who he needs to be in power to make more money.

And absolutely none of that makes him wrong about Alleva and Alexander.

I think he's right about those 2.

Just not with this situation, which has been handled correctly.
