Rewatching the game. Can we give enough praise to Mike Denbrock??

Thank goodness Rees went to Bama and our second option was the grand slam if that is actually how it played out

BK said in his postgame presser that Denbrock prioritizes getting the ball to the best players

It doesn’t really take a genius to figure that out but when you’ve got a guy like Nabers, who can go up against anybody and defeat them why would you not keep feeding him the ball. Common sense and I can’t understand why there are some coordinators that don’t do these things.

You might be dog-cussing Denbrock next year when we lose the threat of the QB run. What we have at QB right now is a national once in a decade talent who has great pocket presence, a very good arm, great character, smarts, and is the best running QB LSU has ever had - probably the best in the nation.

The RPO looks like our Read Option, and linebackers and safeties have to respect it. That is leaving giant gaps 15 to 20 yards downfield. I don’t think those gaps are there if Nuss is the QB. Maybe our running game is good enough that it wouldn’t matter, but I hope we don’t have to find out.

Ha, nabers is great, but he isnt what makes this offense go. And same with denbrock, he is good, but the level we are at aint because of scheme, its #5 and that great oline. That true dual threat ability by jayden. Being the best running qb in the country. Having a good oline giving him time to survey the field. He is now making the underneath throws like last year and compliments it well with the improved vertical passing game now. Thats almost impossible to stop

The play calling was good last night but we outmatched Auburn at nearly every position last night. That was the worst team we played next to grambling. You could have called anything and we should have blown them out.

The thing I love about Denbrock is he exploits what the defense gives him. Auburn was playing shell a lot last night. We killed them over the middle. Their LB couldn’t cover the middle of the field.

you are correct, but it has not always happened in the past. Russell Shepherd comes to mine for one.

I said it last night but I'll say it again.

I love the design and unpredictability of this offense. It has a little bit of everything, without being overly complicated

Yep. One guy couldn’t tell us enough that Denbrocks scheme was “outdated” and still insists he’s changed it over the last year.

Even if someone really believes that nonsense wouldn’t you have to give Denbrock credit for “changing the scheme” mid season last year??

You’ve already seen some of the ignorant replies in this thread that show some people simply refuse to credit our coaches for anything

Those people need to go support usc and their fantastic offense lmao

I was worried about his age but he has shown to be one of our best hires.

We will see a huge drop off in quarterback play with Nussmeier next year. Enjoy Jaden Daniels while you have him.

I mentioned this last night. It’s a pretty simple offense. They run the same shite over and over and over. JD’s running ability especially makes it special. If they want Nuss to succeed, the offense shouldn’t look like this next year.

I think they know that. If everyone with eligibility returns on the OL, the OL could be one of the best in school history. That’s a great start. And there’s no doubt we will miss JD5. He should be in New York come December. But as of today, I’m still more worried about Defense in ‘24 than the offense.

Our o will likely take a step back but I feel like Denbrock can adjust.

Our oline is elite which helps and our backs will be great.

Overall, very satisfied with Denbrock, Wilson, Sloan, Hankton and Davis.

Now let’s assemble a similar defensive staff.

Only because he’s lacking experience. Coaches really need to be putting him under fire when they have opportunities to, like the last 5 minutes last night. Daniels took a pointless nasty shot to the knees trying to run for a first down when you could have had the backup QB in running out the clock. “BuT, mUh HeIzMuN!” Point being, Nussmeier has the arm talent and smarts to blow doors off of defenses. Once he gains experience he will be just as good as, if not better than, Daniels.

I admit that I was lukewarm at best on his hire. He has far exceeded expectations
