Rickey was also one of the worst multi year starters in sec history. Terrible against the run and pass.

Old LSU ate their own. It was accepted for too long because the program wasn’t where everyone dreamed it could be. 2019 exceeded the dreams.

New LSU will lift the program up when things don’t go well. “One team, one heartbeat” means something. Get on board.

There are enough Louisianians who choose not to play for LSU. Hate them. I’ll pull for the guys who want to be with us. Throwing an INT for LSU isn’t nearly as bad as wearing the red helmet.

Pretty good account.

I try to remember my Tigers in the best light. The JJ I remember competed hard, was tough as any, ran the plays that were called.

He had a good skill set and when we organized the offense around it, the offense could function.

We blamed him for holding the ball too long but that's how he was coached so as not to repeat the '08 int fest.

We blame him for the debacle but both he and DeAngelo said the same thing, i.e., we didn't run the offense we practiced for.

And my favorite, we scored 21 second half points vs Bama in '10 after we opened up the offense. I think JJ could play. Unfortunately, he played in the Leschemblecker era.

Jordan Jefferson is a great Tiger.

Never understood the need to badmouth a guy who did his best at LSU. And the fact that a whole parade of QBs also sucked in that time span ought to tell people that it wasn’t just the QB that was the problem. Horrible scheme didn’t do anyone any favors. The defenses knew what was coming.

He had a great game against TAM in the 2010 Cotton, I think.

The QB play and offense in general were bad after the 2008 debacle. JL was ok if not asked to do too much but was hopeless against Bama. Mett was good in 2013 but considering he was a senior with a lot of experience and had all world WRs, that’s an outlier. After Mett was more horrible QB play.

So why pick on JJ?

We were slightly more open with Crowton.

JJ just wasn’t good.

I met Ricky he seemed like a better man than me, did this family do something to you that we don't know about?

Any quarterback that had even a slight amount of success under les fricking miles should have their number retired. People talking shite about a QB with the numbers JJ had while playing for that coaching regime? fricking ignorant

We'll never know how good any of those QBs could've been with a real coaching staff. Brain-Les chewed through QBs like he did grass

remember JJ having a very slow throwing motion. Seems like it took forever to go through his motion.

This could’ve been fixed if we had proper/knowledgeable qb couching back then. He could’ve been good.

He really was mentally handicapped I think, recruiting dual-threat QBs for a Bo Schembechler offense?? I think LSU is still suffering from his idiocy to an extent, you hear recruits talk about how they want to see if last season's offense was a flash in the pan

really, Lee was psychologically broken?
Yes. Yes he was.

Stats padded against cupcakes. Hell, iirc 75% of his throws were behing the los. Against good teams, he played terribly.

Here he is vs decent teams:

Oregon:

10-22 98 yards 1td

WVU (his best game against a good team, by alot):

16-28 180 yds 3TDs

Bama:

3/7 24 yds 2 INT

Every other team he started against, finished with at least 5 losses.

That was a VERY down year for the SEC.

I am not defending Jordan, or propping him up at all. But this Uncle Rico attitude of "If coach had just put Lee in, we coulda won state!" has to stop.

Neither QB was any good. Jordan would have put up similar numbers, had he played those broke arse teams.

A true JJ fan aren’t you. Jefferson’s best game as a Tiger was vs. Arkansas in 2011. After that he sucked bigtime. And to be honest he wasn’t that good before that.

Lee was completely rattled in TTown, I think he would've done better at a neutral site, we probably still lose though

Lee sucked arse. I don’t know why people hype him up so much. Whether it wasn’t his fault or not and he and JJ were a product of a shitty system you can argue. But he sucked arse in whatever we were running. Les should have been fired in 2013 after ruining that team

I hope this is sarcasm. Or are we back to the "if you say anything negative about Lee, you are a JJ fan" mentality of fandom?

quote:

Neither QB was any good.

Or from my previous post:

quote:

Jefferson suffered in a severely restrained offense. It was all Miles.

The offense looked better in 2011 against cupcakes with Lee, so it fostered an artificial controversy.

Jefferson couldn't throw with touch. Lee floated too many off his back foot. Jefferson had a painfully slow release. Lee got scared in the pocket.

The only reason Jefferson kept getting the nod over Lee is his ability to run when the play broke down. And with the terrible offense Miles established, the play was inevitably going to break down.

Neither QB had any business leading this team. Blame Perrilloux for that.

After Lee's abysmal 08 Freshman year, Miles got scared and handcuffed the offense. He also hid Lee, which probably broke the kid psychologically. It was apparently a philosophy change that he couldn't shake.

Lee was rattled by Bama, period.

08 he threw 4 INTs
09 4/10 1 INT
10 4/7 in relief

Again, not like Jordan was better all around. He just kept getting the nod, because he could run.
