No, it’s because Jarrett Lee was absolute trash. I’m sure he’s a good guy but if someone could blow up the entire Jefferson family today we can admit that Lee sucked balls

I think anyone with a backbone would've fired Less long before that With Lee we might have scored at least. Bama was basically daring JJ to throw with 8-9 in the box and ofc Fudd wouldn't do it

Maybe cupcakes is a poor word choice, sure
We finished with a high schedule strength because of Oregon, WVU, Bama x2, Arkansas, and Georgia. Everyonbe esle finished with 5 or more losses.
Lee played 3, did well against 1. JJ played 3, did well against 1.

JJ was huge. 6’4” or more and 230. He could run and was a very good athlete. I always thought he could have been a WR like Moss or even a solid defender. The times were different then and he was allowed to die as a QB.

You guys just forgetting about Andrew Hatch?

Ah, the over emotional women showed up.
Absolute trash..

Look, I said it at the time. . .either of those guys could have been viable.
They needed time as an understudy. Had they both rode the pine behind RP for 2 or 3 years, I think they could have been a hell of a pair when Ryan leaves.
Instead you throw them both to the wolves out of necessity. . .and you get what we got.

He was trash. If JJ has put up his stats you’d be crucifying him

He wasn’t very good imo.
This is ridiculous.
Both JJ and Lee were never developed at LSU. Both were decent QBs, who weren't feature QBs and platoon players at best.
This doesn't = "garbage" or "not very good." Both QBs gave us a few shining moments to be proud of.

Les Miles made offense seem like it was so hard to be good at
He was just awful at it

JJ did worse in 2010' and I'm in this thread saying he's a decent QB.
Low information types see in extremes.

Russell and Mettenberger should have both put up better numbers. Being afraid hampered us. I’ll throw it out there... Les was closer to Curley than he was to Saban

He also wasn't very good. In my younger years, I saw him at a mall in Metairie and yelled weakside option. You could just see him die a little inside, which I now feel bad about.

Pretty stupid since he didn't call the plays

Rickey was also one of the worst multi year starters in sec history
jj was not nearly as bad as fans made him out to be. i remember at one point, i think it was '09, he was leading the conference in passing efficiency.

For all the shite we gave JJ, JL, BH and others, at this point, it is honestly impossible to discern if they were as bad as we thought.
Here's reality.
To believe they were all that bad, you have to believe that Miles missed on literally EVERY 4 star QB recruit he landed after Perilloux.
JJ
JL
BH
Jennings
Rettig
And I think there were more. Now, not all 4 Star QBs end up "good". But, the reality is, you could fricking throw darts at a dart board full of 4 Star QBs and not whiff 100% of the time for like 10 years.
At some point, you have to look back at the common denominator.

I do agree with this. Les may have been the second worst coach in LSU history behind Curly Hallman

Would DiNardo and archer have fricked up the talent les had?
