Rewatching Florida game (again)

Florida played one hell of a game. I don’t think any other team beats them that night and we won by 14.

it gets lost in the shuffle of the historic season but LSU beat some REALLY good teams who actually played well against us but still got blown out.
Georgia played a physical game against us and had absolutely no chance to win the game.
Hell Clemson played us physical as hell yet LSU broke their fricking will
Truly amazing

Did you notice:
LSU was held to only 44 offensive plays, a 2019 season low!
LSU was annihilated (doubled if I remember correctly) in Time of possession.
LSU won 42-28 but we were behind 28-21 until Aranda called a great game and shut them the hell out allowing 21 unanswered points (shades of the Clemson game)
Mullen is a dangerous coach that finds plays and ways to keep chains moving.
Mullen will stick to his TOP plan again vs LSU in 2020

The tigers just had way too many weapons for most teams...and our offensive played outstanding all year long....the defensive line play good also aganist some good teams...

Offensively, the Florida game was our most efficient. 42 points in 48 plays. 10.6 yards per play. They were not going to stop us that night.

Mullen has out schemed Aranda about 4 years in a row.
They converted at least three long yardage 3rd downs with screen passes. Everyone in the stadium knew they were coming.
Athleticly Florida is as good as anyone in the SEC.
Still remember what a weasel Mullen was in his post game presser

Trask to Pitts is going to be a problem again. Thinking we play them twice this season.

Agreed, Mullen has had Aranda's number for years and schemed his way to a 28-21 second half lead against a team considered "all time great". If the LSU offense doesn't do its magic then Mullen would have been at liberty to keep his game plan in the 4th and burn more clock while taking less risk in LSU territory.
That being said, his having nothing to say post-game other than complain about inconsequential injuries once again showed just wast a pissant he really is.

I think Aranda's best trait was second half adjustments. He even admitted not knowing how the beginning of many games would start, and not having a real feel for how to start adjusting until 2-3 series in. Shut down some great teams in the second half.

Aranda allowed Trask to look like an All Pro in the first half of that game with the lack of pressure he brought. It was ridiculous.

Aranda allowed Trask to look like a world beater. The first half scheme was garbage. Pelini would’ve shut that shite down no problem. FL had no running game and they still torched us somehow

A lot of solid comments in this thread. The atmosphere in Tiger Stadium that night is under rated. It was ROCKING for a top ten night game and a true revenge game.
I agree Mullen has out coached Aranda for 3 years. We got some big turnovers deep into our territory in this game to really stop them.
One moment sticks out though. Mullen burned us with his little cute speed option play dating back to the game in Gainsville. He ran it on 4th and Goal game on the line....K'Lavon stuffed it. frick Florida.

I think UF is more of a concern for me than Bama this year.

Well, even if this is true we don’t have to worry about it this year. Bo is going to shut them down.

I've been tying trout flies and watching the games in order from the links liquid rabbit provided. Replays of all LSU games 2019
That UF game was amazing! I think Florida played the best game against LSU of anyone all year. Auburn game may have been closer in the end, but UF really got after it and seemed to have our number for a good portion of that game.

LSU held themselves to those little plays and the TOP differential. The offense was so efficient that game. They scored 42 points in 44 plays and a missed field goal from 45 points in 44 plays.
LSU only had 4 third downs the whole game. LSU had 11 possessions during the game They had 5 possessions not result in a TD (2 were to end a half, 2 were punts, and missed field goal).
The 6 touchdown drives were of 2, 5, 4, 8, 4, and 4 plays respectively for a total of 23 plays and averaged just under 2 minutes per TD drive. The offense was insane that night.

I don't know if I'd say Aranda was very good even in the second half of that game. It's just that LSU's offense was so good that all the defense needed was a stop or two to all the offense to run away.
UF's second half possessions:
1st Drive - TD
2nd Drive - Punt (however, they had a 27 yard screen pass on the first play of the drive negated by a holding call to set up 1st & 20)
3rd Drive - 3 & out
4th Drive - Trailing by 7, they marched downfield. Converting two 3rd and longs in the process. On 3rd and 1 at the LSU 16 they tried to trick LSU with a play action and Trask made his worst throw of the night...right to Stingley in the endzone. That was probably the easiest INT Stingley had all season.
LSU scored after that to extend the lead to 2 TD's, but UF got the ball back and drove it the length of the field once more...stalling out on downs at the LSU 2.
LSU's offense left Florida with no margin of error that night and Aranda's defense was just good enough.

I wouldn’t say Mullen outschemed aranda in 2018
Our defense gave up 20 points and 7 in the second half in the swamp
The offense was just terrible

Trask is the only Flier returning.
Florida will have green WRs to face us in the Swamp Oct 10. And, there’s no way they get past Georgia on Oct 31 in Jacksonville.
Georgia with Jamie Newman is going to an up tempo offense and the Fromm giveaway years are going to be a thing of the past.
Only CV-19 bad timing delaying GA Fall prep can save Alabama from losing to Georgia this year. Georgia gets thag June 1 go ahead and they gonna spank Tide @$$ in Week 2.
Mark it all down!!!

Yes, we forced two punts after they took the lead but they also had two sustained drives if 70 yards. Stingley’s superb interception was a huge difference in that game. Trask played a helluva game. I don’t think Aranda’s D was all that and a bag of chips that night.
