I made reservations (3 rooms) a little bit ago at a Hilton Garden Inn located between 5th and 6th Street on I-35. Good location relative to the "action" (6th Street is the place) and should be able to walk to the game (around 21st Street). $197 a night, which is pretty good from what I've seen the last couple of days.

I wanted walkability and interactions with the fans. I checked VRBO, etc. but everything in the downtown area was expensive. I didn't want to be 15-20 miles outside of town.

E. Sixth Street is the place for college kids and tourists. Rainey Street and W. Sixth is better for adults.

Getting to and from the games there are pretty difficult., but better than LSU IMO. How are you planning to get to the game?

Sure, for some. Otherwise, most over 30 will not want to be on 6th...especially closer to 35. 6th gets better as you move towards MoPac.

If you just want to get drunk and possibly get into a fight, then E. 6th is your spot. Otherwise, there are better places to have a good time. 2nd, 4th, Rainey...even the Domain are better options.

E. 6th is trashy at night. But just like Mardi Gras, it’s the tourists that make it trashy.

W. 6th and Rainey is where to be.

Specifically, for LSU fans, Rustic Tap on W. 6th will be painted in Purple & Gold

Rooms booked at Aloft Austin Downtown (109 East 7th Street) - hopefully plenty of other LSU fans. Depending on how much we hate ourselves after Friday night, stadium should be walkable Saturday morning.

Being a dad now I haven't even looked at football tickets in quite some time, but are the prices on stub hub normal? I'm looking at the nosebleeds for $250/each. Seems a bit absurd but again it's been a while since I have priced tickets.

Ticket prices MAY go down as the game gets closer (they probably will), but you are looking at what is likely going to be a top 10 matchup between two major fanbases. The ticket prices are going to be higher than your average game.

We got our room for 3 nights at the Hilton Austin. Easy walking distance to Rainey or 6th.

I'm at the Hilton Austin on E. 4th for about $240/night. Walking distance to Rainey.

My plan is to Uber to stadium and walk the mile back with a break for a meal or beer.

I experienced 6th Street in May. Never again. Reminded me of Walking Dead.

I went once and it sucked. A bunch nof shite techno looking bars.

I'd rather spend time in the soco area based on my handful of trips there

Not a chance. This is going to be the toughest ticket in LSU football history.
