Maybe they're still upset with Jay Z for ditching Jaz O? LSU does not forget your injustices, Jay Z!

AYE. Anything but that crap. The only reason that bluegrass song gets played is because it has the words "Baton Rouge" in it. It makes as much sense as playing the "Heart of Rock and Roll" by Huey Lewis and the News. Calling Baton Rouge has nothing to do with LSU and nothing to do with playing football and is a real buzz kill for all the non-crackers out there.

Nay

Other than actual LSU songs, what is appropriate for Tiger Stadium?? I mean some have said Calling Baton doesn't fire them up for football and has nothing to do with the sport and then in the same breath say we should play cajun music. How does that relate to football?? I also don't see how playing Garth Brooks makes us look bad in the eyes of a country that made him the number 1 selling artist of all time. Everyone watching the Tigers on TV has one of his albums.

because the garth brooks song is about a drunken fling, and cajun music is made by the people of this great state, and is specific only to this state in the entire world.

come on reading comprehension.

and you're wrong. not everyone has a garth brooks album.

The same country that gave us Wal Mart as the number 1 retailer.

BR is way more country than cajun....you fail sir

but I agree that it'd be cool to have some more cajun music played at games, but callin Baton Rouge playing is one of most people's favorite gameday traditions.....

Yes I realize not everyone has a Garth album ( I don't). The point was that playing ONE of his songs prior to a game doesn't make us all look like hicks. A lot of people like his music all over the world. Why can't we just dislike a song without calling everyone a hayseed hick who does happen to like it. Big deal, they play a country song before the games. I don't think we should start labeling everyone with a derogatory term based solely on the music they listen to. That could get ugly.

actually from the looks of this thread, it is one of the most hated abominations of what you might call a "tradition"

and it's only 3 years old.

So I'm guessing you have it about like this...

Calling Baton Rouge
Eye of the Tiger
Living on a Prayer
the Wave

>>>>>>

Tiger Rag
Hey Fightin' Tigers
LSU pregame
the post TS song
1st down song.
Hail to the Defense
band marching down the hill
two bits
Mike's Circle around the Stadium and roar

Well, I would love more LSU and true Louisiana music played, really would, but that "tradition" is well over 3 years old. First time I started hearing it on a regular basis was Georgia 03
