We constantly hear about how MM was hamstrung with a team that only includes 3 players from last year's team. Well, Dennis Gates did the same and he brought 4 players from Cleveland State. I guess that's different than LSU.

Reminder..... hell, this is news to me. But he's obviously a better HC than MM.

I won't lie, it will be hilarious seeing a brand new 12 man squad every season that just gets worse and worse. If only McMahon had his guys, we'd be 5-12 right now!

Missouri is a solid team with lots of talent, and one of the better teams in the SEC. Gates didn't come in empty handed.

LSU played a decent game until the flurry of turnovers starting with about 3 minutes left. Face it, this team is not that good-- but tonight actually showed improvement

Perhaps the biggest benefit of LSU ever becoming a consistently good program will be the introduction of people on this site who actually know what the frick they are talking about.

We did this the last time LSU played Missouri. This Missouri team has TWO returning players. Gates had to bring in 10 new players. 9 are transfers. Of that 9, 3 are from Cleveland St, two are from other mid major programs, two are JUCO guys, 1 is from Clemson. He had ONE (1) HS signee.

Perhaps no other team in the SEC is a better comp for LSU in terms of roster. However, the coaching could not be more of a contrast. Missouri, picked to finish 10th in the SEC, will reach the NCAAT. McMahon on the other hand has remarkably bypassed anger and reached complete program apathy in the span of one season. A truly remarkable feat.

Gates came in MORE empty handed that McMahon. Yet, much to the dwindling McMahon supporters chagrin, he didn’t accept his team was supposed to be awful this year.

McMahon has done one of the worst coaching jobs in recent memory. Not just in basketball. But across all sports at LSU. Anyone defending him at this point is only doing so solely out of spite and condescension because there is ZERO objective basis to actually do so

When I looked at this a few weeks ago, Missouri was able to recruit

- Their best player from last year

- best player from Cle St

- best player from N Iowa

- best player from Milwaukee

- best player from Missouri St

- starter from Clemson

So yea, the talent is different. If it’s because McMahon can’t recruit, we’ll find out. But Missouri wasn’t recruiting with a cloud above them.

“A cloud above them “
Can’t wait until this excuse is over with . LSU wasn’t getting any sanctions for this season regardless , so that had no bearing on why this team is can’t compete
