The DOME has been damn good to Louisiana State University. And if you think Tiger Stadium is superior to the Dome...You must be from Baton Rouge??Your Family Crest!

LSU games in the Dome have always been a blast and some of the best LSU memories (with 1 slight exception) have been made there with the Sugar Bowls and National Championships with incredible atmospheres. Everything is close by and everyone has a great time.
I like how everybody keeps talking about how awesome the dome atmosphere is and then goes on to talk about National Championship games and Super Bowls. This is neither. Anybody remember the 2007 game against Tulane in the dome? It sucked.
A home and home in this series would have been awesome. Instead we get the superdome and whatever the citrus bowl stadium is called now.

AC and better food than Tiger Stadium

It's a neutral site game that happens to be in New Orleans. Still can't over the fact that all 4 of LSU's NC appearances have been in New Orleans.

Are you really comparing a game against lowly Tulane to a opening game for LSU against FSU? I mean, I know FSU has had some rough years lately, but they have been one of the great programs with a great fan base over the last 40 years before these last few years. It will be a great environment. LSU has had many boring non-conference cupcake games like Tulane in a quarter empty Tiger Stadium in the past.
I would prefer a true home and home too. I'm just saying that this is a good substitute and games in the Dome have traditionally been fun environments.

TV money. And Sunday night. No one else is playing.
I agree btw. Florida State probably would not agree. And our ADministration trying to make NOLA politicians and fans happy.

Off topic a little but I just realized Kelly will open up a season playing FSU three years in a row. Didn’t realize it was his first game last year

You don’t like air conditioning in September?

I know this thread is about questioning why the game is in the dome, but I would imagine most people have a bigger issue with next year's game. Playing in Orlando again really sucks compared to getting the chance to play in Doak and experience their campus.

100%. Playing in Orlando week 1 is a travesty, imo.
My biggest problem with the game being in New Orleans is that it will be MUCH harder to scalp tickets. I don’t have access to season tickets anymore, so I’m usually scrounging the day of the game. This game in NOLA likely will price me out, and buying a ticket on the street is just asking to get scammed.
Also, does anyone know if the dome is still checking for vaccination status like they were last season for Saints games?

It’s considered a “neutral” site. But in reality it is a home game for us. We basically get a free home game every time we play there, with all the advantages that come with it.

I would have been ok with Jacksonville or Tampa. Both are better cities with better stadiums. Orlando just kind of sucks.

This is one instance whereby playing on a neutral field may help the Tigers. Incredibly LSU is only 1-6 v The Noles in Tiger Stadium!
Bad juju-- we need to shake up that equation, somehow.

If this game was in Baton Rouge, I wouldn’t go.

My next door neighbor is a huge Georgia fan. Yes, he does bitch about it a LOT!
We both live about 6 miles from Clemson’s stadium, and yes the Clempson fans incessantly bitch about it!!

You need to slow down. It way too early to be this drunk.

It’s because of $, but I agree and despise the neutral site games.

It is almost criminal that this series isn't a home and home
