DB Chris Beard had a catastrophic spinal injury in an Arena League game, was bed ridden and suffocated when his new puppy accidentally disconnected his breathing apparatus

Rusty Jackson, who kicked the winning extra point in the "four second" win over Ole Miss.

From my era, a gentleman who was older than the others mentioned but still struck down by illness a good 20 years too soon; RiP, Tommy "Trigger" Allen. Wonderful Christian family man.

Was unaware that Rusty Jackson had passed and was at that 17-16 LSU vs. Ole Miss game. When did that happen if anyone knows? So sad to hear about so many that died too early. Just did a Google search, Man he was only in his late forties and was born in Tuscaloosa Alabama and played High School ball for Chatom Alabama, Don't know how Mac got him away from the Bear but sure glad that he did. Hate so much that he passed so early.
