It very nearly cost us Ja’Marr as well. He carried that grudge for 2 years and didn’t even care that we’d replaced our coaching staff. It still pissed him off that much. It’s the main reason why he was so hell bent on going out of state for the longest time during his recruitment. The kid was seriously gonna pick TCU over us. shite the night before NSD he told his dad it was Auburn lol. So Les almost screwed us with the best WR to ever wear P&G and he wasn’t even our coach anymore.

I also remember all the other guys he got into the right positions that they ended up playing in the NFL. Remember Mo Claiborne? Devin White?

I am glad Chase played WR, but if Les had remained coach he would have been wasted there like OBJ. He would have been much more valuable as a safety.

Les Miles is proof that the LSU football program is the #1 program in college football. If that dude can win a natty, and play for another.....

And the same dipshit wanted Dak Prescott to play tight end instead of QB while recruiting him.

And the same dipshit wanted Devin White, a star running back in high school, to play linebacker. What a maroon.

Chase would have been a Sean Taylor level of athlete at safety.

at that time, Les was obsessed with the Carolina Panthers' strategy of tall/wingspan WRs to cope with QB inaccuracy

it's not shocking he saw 6-0 Chase as a DB

and i have no doubt if Chase played as a DB (FS, SS, or CB) he'd dominate and be a top-half of the 1st selection

everyone wanted White to play LB

it was just a matter of who would lie to him best about "getting a shot" at RB. Les won that battle

Les also only recruited Dak to play tight end.

He’d be Derek Stingley Jr if he was a CB. Wouldn’t have mattered.
No way to know that. CB is a completely different skill set. Some freak athletes can pull off both but we have no clue how good Chase’s backpedal or hip turn is.

MO Claiborne. Qb and wr, 1st rnd pick at CB.

Players change positions and excel at times.

Kind of like RS would never have made it at qb but had a career in the NFL playing st and wr.
