This scenario was what completely destroyed the BCS in the first place.
Now there's a committee in charge to ASSURE YOU that 2 teams from the same division of the same conference will EVER play each other again for the NC.
That's why it was such an important game at the time. It was like the ultimate punking in all of college football history and LSU will never get a chance to right it again.
If we won the NC 3 years in a row, it couldn't erase that loss. It was the most devastating way to ever end an undefeated season and it was to our former coach in our home state to the most obnoxious fanbase of all time.
We blew it. And no, we'll never get a do over.
And yes. I'm mad. Just like I am every time I think about it.

team that doesn't win their division shouldn't be in the playoffs... 95% agree. But if you are 2nd in the division and prob the 2nd best team in nation. You deserve the top 4, not top 2 for championship. If your only loss was to the number 1 team. Can't help you are in same division.

Agree. There is a reason every team in a division play one another, its to find out who is the best team who in return are rewarded to play for a conference title. Yes, Alabama did win but it feels shitty to know that you have to win your conference title game to get to the NCG. While the team you beat who is in your division can stay at home rest and no matter what STILL play in the NCG. If LSU loses the SECCG, do they still play in the NCG? No Ok State who won their conference title game plays Bama. Instead Bama vs LSU. Should have been OKS vs LSU.

Having two teams from the same division is what got us to the playoff.
I truly believe that the playoff needs to be the 4 best teams, regardless of where they come from, but unless the playoff committee is prepared to blow this format up, I don't see this happening again soon.

Ok st only loss while they had a tragic loss. The regular season win didn't count because LSU had already eliminated that opponent. LSU has to win 2 games to win the natty but bama can lose one and win one. The regular season game didnt count for shite.
