Recruiting Myth: O is bringing in recruits like never before

Orgeron has done a very good job so far with recruiting this year, but some of his pumpers have gotten ridiculous with how much they are trying to glorify his success to this point. While the statement that he is solidifying the trenches is partially true that is dependent on the DL he signs to close.
In Miles' last 3 years, he finished #2 (2014), #5 (2015), and #2 (2016).
Hell, the 2016 year was pre-early signing period and in the midst of Miles supposedly being fired after having been carried off the field with the win over A&M.
Orgeron is currently at #6 in a year where Louisiana has 4 top 100 players and 12 top 250 players. I'd hope he'd finish in the top 5 with that leverage. He's recruiting fine, but he's no better than Miles and as of right now even with a top 2 class will average a rank of #8.5 in his first two full years according to 247sports while Miles averaged a rank of #3 in his last 3 full years.
This trend has to continue and it is a positive, but lets not act like he's done something special here that is unique and above and beyond.

I would Love to see a breakdown of O’s recruiting in da trenches

Miles has been gone for over 2 years. I think it's time to move past it.
So, why shouldn't people be happy again?

The point is this is a great class, and no one should say otherwise, but people acting like recruiting was ever LSU's issue are being naive. Hold the presses on anointing O as a king of recruiting and stating he is shifting momentum when 1 year doesn't make a trend. I hope it continues, but LSU should still be in a wait and see mode with Orgeron at this point, not trying to lock him in for years to come based on this season and recruiting class.

It is a great class
We just have to make sure we maximize its potential.
Also get another DE

Has anyone done this whatsoever?

I agree.
I still love Miles. I was torn when he was fired. Like many, I felt it was time to move on but hated seeing him go.
THAT SAID, I am an LSU alum and fan, and Orgeron is the coach.
I am fully supportive of Orgeron and am hopeful he takes the next step this upcoming season.
Just because someone likes Les doesn't mean we're opposed to Ed O.
These debates of Ed vs. Les are stupid and accomplish nothing.
I do agree that the perpetual PR campaign pumping nonstop sunshine is a bit excessive, but I hope Orgeron is LSU's coach for at least the next decade. If that's the case, it will because he's had the success to merit it.
I suspect a lot of the so-called "negatigers" on this board dislike the posters who are paid by the football program / athletic department --- not Orgeron.
Obviously there are a few, but I suspect even they dislike the nonstop PR and probably wouldn't say much of what they say if they weren't bombarded by propaganda all day every day.
IMO, the PR/propaganda is reaching a point where it's counterproductive.
I'd bet if it stopped, the anti-O segment of the fanbase would largely disappear.

We need some LOS beef but I’m not gonna shite on their efforts. One guy’s family memebers got jobs. We’re trying to pull another away from the sleazy barber. Maybe this weekend can bring some magic. I never thought we’d get Ika. That being said, I’m freakin over it. Wednesday can’t be over any sooner.

Okay but he really didn’t finish 2 in 2016

If the recruiting board is to be believed, we have some coming.

Miles always loaded up with skill players and neglected the trenches. In reality, a #8 class that is well balanced is better than a #3 class that’s heavily weighted in skill players. It’s all about need.

people hated miles and didn't think his tenure was merited. And going by how we give put extensions, Orgeron could be here for that long and not win anything.

It’s great to look at the recruiting rankings and say “those were great classes,” but that is arguable
2017 had the following guys in our front seven finish their eligibility. None were drafted or are on an NFL roster:
Lacontour
Gilmore
Herron
Voorhies
Thompson
Patterson
Donnie Alexander
Clark
This year these are the scholarship seniors on the roster who signed as freshmen at LSU
Ed Paris
Washington
Brumfeld
Moreau
Ducre
Battle
Does that look like Miles highly rated classes panned out? Devin White and Greedy will be drafted in the 1st rd. Alexander will be a bouncer at some bar in Hammond by July Moreau might have a shot at being drafted
It is an insult to this incoming class to be compared to the last couple of “highly rated” classes brought in by Miles

It’s enjoyable to me.
The amount of butthurt O gives these haters amuses me.
