Les Miles' potential firing by LSU heavily criticized by ESPN's 'College GameDay' .

That’s being critical of the process back in 2015, which frankly is 100% spot on. The poster was claiming Davis said LSU wasn’t a blue blood and should happy with our place”. I’d need actual proof of that Davis said that because it sounds more like some insecure fans interpretation of a national media figure arguing against firing Miles and a not direct quote.

quote:

think he heard this interview and turned it into what he wanted to hear. Rece praises the LSU job but says it was tough before Saban got here and it will be tought for whoever replaces him.

That’s probably a good bet

What if he shits the bed this year but nails the 19 recruiting circle?

Do we have to give him 3 years with that class?

Wouldnthe O pumpers be the ones telling us to be happy with an 18th ranked season, a HC with a 31-33 record, and a 15 ranked recruiting class?

Seems to be more in the “let’s accept 15-20 range results” camp.

“ it’s not completely insane to consider him”

Since when did it become appropriate for LSU to hire coordinators because it’s not completely insane to consider one?

We go from hiring one of the most well thought of ones in college football to one no one had thought of in bout 20 yrs. Telll me that’s not insane?

I mean Sure it includes 12-4 games and an interim

The best point is he is below .500 when considered in the best possible light.

People have to argue to bring his record up from what? 19-29?

He’s a trash coach. LSU is a good program. I think LSU is a good enough program at this point that almost any coach could go 9-4. We basically leaned on a defense that was coached by a guy Miles hired.

He also said how Saban was making his staff younger, he’s looking ahead and wanted fresh ideas on his staff. Meanwhile we’re hiring a 60 yo that hasn’t been an OC in 20 years and 73 yo WR coach and another retiree as ST coach

This is bullshite right here. Saban's staff is always young because guys want his name on their resumes. Then they take off whenever they can. At least they mostly springboard their success at Alabama to better jobs. Experienced guys don't want to deal with his shite or at least not for long. Burton Burns was the only member of his staff to be there for the 5 championships. He has had 4 OCs in just over a year. He has tremendous turnover every season. He doesn't want fresh ideas. He has no choice!

Not saying you should hire someone because its not completely insane. My comment was a slightly sarcastic response, with sound backing, to others insinuating that it WAS insane.

I understand that there were better resume's out there, but my point was this was not an insane hire. But yes it is questionable. I agree with that. Insane? no thats ridiculous.

Of course Rece is a Bama alum who regularly laughed at our former coach.
As for the age of the assistants that’s a lot of horse crap.

Multiple poster have said this, what exactly do you mean, it’s horse crap? I assume you mean it doesn’t matter, if true, do you think it didn’t matter that Jenkins did not recruit? And can you please provide other examples of teams that have hired multiple coaches, new to the staff over 70 or 60?

I agree with this a million times over. Not going to lie, I do like that we have a legit WR coach to coach our guys now, but I still hate and don't understand the Ensminger hire.

Why in the hell are we even attempting to run a NFL offense when we can barely even pass to begin with? Why didn't they just go with a spread guy and run a legit college offense that is tried and true and has been the only thing to beat Bama since 2012?
