TBob and Jordy had Rece Davis on this morning. Of course he said he thinks Ed O can be successful (like he gonna say other wise) but he also said assistants can’t be more importaant than the HC, which basically repudiates the main argument made by people like Jordy and TBob to hire O in the first place, though that wasn’t his intention.

He also said how Saban was making his staff younger, he’s looking ahead and wanted fresh ideas on his staff. Meanwhile we’re hiring a 60 yo that hasn’t been an OC in 20 years and 73 yo WR coach and another retiree as ST coach

At least he talks like us and that's what really matters.

I do think it’s pretty funny that Saban doesn’t win he national title in recruiting and immediately make changes on his staff to make them younger and we made changes To get older.

Same conference. Same division. One is the greatest coach of all time. One is the worst coach in Ole Miss’s history.

I wonder who’s strategy is gonna work....

People say this too much. I’ve lived in LA my entire life and I don’t sound anything like O. O sounds like people south of Houma.

Rece is a bama grad and a bama homer.
Of course he wants O to keep his job. It makes it so much easier for Saban to keep winning.

What is the average age of our coaches? Pretty average I’d say. Y’all point out the 3-4 out of the entire staff and that’s it. Most of the staff is middle-aged or younger.

frick Rece Davis man.

I remember when we fired Miles, he was pissed on GameDay.

He said something along the lines of "LSU who do you think you are going to hire? You aren't a blueblood and have always been in the top 15 to 20. Be happy with that because history says you can't do better."

What a slapdick. So we can't try to get better because "we have to know our place" and we "aren't one of the big boys?" So fricking stupid.

The idea that O could basically be a figurehead and you could surround him with great assistants was just so retarded to begin with.

People point to JoPa and Bobby Bowden as evidence but both of those guys WERE good at some point. Part of being a good HC is hiring good assistants, so they made it work because they knew who to surround themselves with. That system doesn't work if you have a HC that wasn't good in the first place and doesn't know who to surround himself with.

That’s like 40% of the staff

If we were talking about coaches that had been here for a while and were successful here for a while that would be one thing, but these are NEW hires. With a stagnating program fresh ideas are needed.

Bama s OC is 50 & burton burns is almost 70. I don’t really think the age of our staff is abnormally old

Jerry Sullivan has the energy of a 40 year old & is sharp as a tac

Well we had a chance to prove him wrong, and what did we do? We hired fricking Orgeron.

I’m gonna need a link to that exact quote otherwise I’m gonna assume you are just reading that into comments about firing Miles.

This is all complete horse shite! You hire coaches who can coach regardless of their age!! This has nothing to do with Saban wanting to hire young assistants. Screw Rece Davis and all you haters that continue to want to turn over rocks for any little bit of negativity that you fools can come up with

Comparing Alabama and Saban to us or any other program in the country is ridiculous to start with. We are one season into Coach O and y'all continue to jump off buildings at an alarming rate. Enjoy the process either good or bad because the bottom line is none of you NegiTigers have a say in it.

LSU has also hired these coaches/analysts to the staff this offseason:

Leon Wright 28
Aaron Schwanz 31
Jeremy Hawkins 32
Donovan Jackson 33
Jorge Munoz 43
Kevin Faulk 41
James Cregg 44
Doug Nussmeir 47

Anyway, I think age is pretty irrelevant with a coach, though. Pretty weak attack overall. Pete Jenkins was a fossil and players swear by him. The same way guys like Larry Fitzgerald endorse Jerry Sullivan as the best coach he's ever had.
