It absolutely does.

So the game plan doesn’t impact the numbers? Dropped passes? TDs of 25+ yards reversed? There were 6 drops last night 4 were 10+ yards.
It is a small sample size and the Oline had an emergency replacement and are 2 lineman down. Just have to look at it all.

At least the Heisman watch is no longer a distraction.

Look at Durham’s numbers last night, do we think he sucks too?

Units must work in unison together to be efficient. Look at some of the pro teams today. Do they all suck or are some just better right now? How has injuries impacted them early? We discounted Williams being out for Clemson most of that game but it would have affected Klubnick considering he caught about 1000 yards last season. That’s like taking Nabers from Daniels.
I don’t understand why some people can’t see the entire picture when watching the ebb and flow of games due to injuries to critical players. Moore won the offensive lineman of the week last week and only played 1 play yesterday.

Yep, a performance like last night isn’t one thing or one player. When it’s a one player situation everything else looks good. We saw a lot of that with some of the weaker QBs in the Miles era. Last night was a lack of prep, some injuries and some sub par play in multiple spots.

Graphic from ESPN. Nuss has the ability and needs to step it up.

I disagree with your conclusion. What this tells me is that the three deep passes that should have been completions would radically change these stats. One, against Clemson, was overruled by review; two others, against Tech, were horrible throws.

That tells me that the staff or Garrett don’t have faith in our line to give him the time to throw deeper, longer developing routes.

Vs Clemson, he threw the ball an average of 2.16 seconds after the snap. That's insanely quick. And it was because the staff didn't trust the OL to block that DL.

This past week it felt like he had time. He just under threw the first one. Another one was dropped I think. I can't remember.

ETA: Weston Davis struggled in this game. 3 hurries and a sack. And his run blocking was worse.

FWIW, DJ Chester graded out pretty well in PFF.

This have some verticals but post and always have quick check down slants and crossing routes to help bale him out if he needs it. Keep Johnson in for an extra blocker to help protect him and if need be come off the block for another target to offload a pass if need be. Play calling is trash

I agree that those completions would impacted the OPs conclusion.

However, the inability to run (last game especially) is causing issues with our deep routes as there is less need for the safety to step up to stop our rushing attacks.

It’s evidenced by our need for misdirection as well as for our wideouts to rush as frequently as they do though I will acknowledge Xavion can run the ball (better work on ball security).

Losing Moore was a big problem. I would like to see another difference maker on the line and I hope it turns out to be Curne. Davis had some real problems last game!

Chester needs his uniform confiscated and redirected to the band for the rest of his career. Or transfer to Grambling where the level of talent suits him.

Nussmeier is not playing well at all given his experience.

Nuss was not accurate against La Tech. He missed a couple of gimme deep passes and even his short passes were sailing on him. He is no Joe Burrow.

And if the O-line can’t give him time to throw against La Tech, then that number 3 ranking is a joke. It will be a very long season.

It's 2 games for the rest of the qbs on that list too. Sure it's a small sample size, but the fact that he's at the bottom of most of those categories is eye raising. Maybe not alarming, but it's notable.
The numbers don't look good, BUT it is a tiny sample size. Just two games.

Most of those QBs have had an easier schedule. Not all cupcakes are created equally, and LSU wisely schemed to have quick passes against Clemson.

Finally, Nuss has close to 79 pass attempts. Only Mateer is close with 71.

Looked like 2020 Drew Brees on that underthrown interception. That should have been a TD.

Anyway, I expect he'll be fine, he's the least of my worries.

To beat Tech worse they needed to air it out deep and make Tech keep their safeties back. They didn’t do that for some reason. I’d bet my eye teeth it’s not because they are stupid.

So far, Miss Meyer has been extremely underwhelming. All the height for an entire year and his performance has been mediocre at best. What the frick is he waiting for? the NFL is watching. He better ball out for the rest of the season.

What it tells me is that we have been using the short pass game as a defacto running game just like last year as we struggle to get the run game going. Hopefully a healthy O-line and some coaching up will help. Still have faith this run game can be a good bit improved over last year despite the stats not bearing it out yet

on another note, I hate that college takes sacks and kneel downs into your team rushing total
