Tepper, Mallveto, Pelini 2, House?
1 being worst.
I’d go:
1. House
2. Tepper
3. Pelini 2
4. Mallveto

Reading this list brought back worse memories than what happened on that overnight camping trip with my scout leader when I was 10

Pellini 2 was worse than House. House at least fielded a functional defense last year.

It's Thanksgiving and you're insisting on torturing yourself bringing up those guys?

Michael Bugar, the DC first 3 seasons of Hallman's regime, outsucked all those listed.

They're basically equally as bad.

In my opinion

2022 House > 2020 Pelini > 2023 House

This is the worst I’ve seen. 2020 defense had a couple good games. This defense lets everyone light it up.

The fall of Bo Pelini was startling. That guy used to be one of the best in college football.

Time and new schemes pass them all by. Only those willing to evolve find some sustained success.

The only defense I know of where

(A) it takes 4 years to learn, and
(B) the safeties and corners swap positions

I’ve watched them all and the truth is they’re all equally terrible.

House this season.

Perhaps no DC in the 130 history had a larger margin for error than House had this season given how good the LSU offense has been. Yet, he fell incredibly short of that low bar for success. He literally could have had a defense equivalent to the worst defense of the Saban/Miles eras, combined, and this would be a championship contending team. Sadly, it will go down as one of the more prominent “what if” teams of the last 3-4 decades

House is the worst by far.

Pelini 2 is second worst, but most of the blame should go to O there seeing as he literally forced Pelini to run a 4-3 with a roster built for a 3-4.

Tepper defenses sucked at certain positions but were not as bad as either of those across three board.

Malveto was bad, but also had a worse scoring defense because of Lee’s affinity to throw pick6’s.
