I'm surprised at the negative reactions to Speilman. He's highly regarded in Big Ten Country having played for Ohio State and the Detroit Lions. I have a feeling that if he played for an SEC school and the Saints you all would be rating him much higher.
Spielman just calls them like he sees them. this was not the top team from ESPN but a decent one. Some people on here want to hear homers pump rainbows and unicorns up their arse.

I am sure there are a few that fit that description but most have noted that Spielman made few valid points and was generally just hard to understand. He kept stumbling on his words and he doesn't have a very clear voice.

Sounded OK to me.

I'm watching the game and am more concerned that the producer, director, and technical crew bring their A game than what the suits in the booth say

Maybe the referee started the play not knowing they were still in a commercial.

They were too bland and no excitement for the game itself

You're absolutely right!!! But think of this. We didn't have to listen to Musburger.

Spielman was terrible.
Sounded drunk or handicapp.
Reminded me what Walt prob sounds like had he called game.

A bit dry but Spielman was excellent as an analyst. Didn't spout off worthless contradictory stuff just to hear his own voice.
I'd take those guys every game.

Spielman was a phenomenal player and only receives an 8/10 but an average announcer and receives just one point lower? What the hell kind of scale is this?
4/10 for Spielman. I'll take Danielson over this guy 10/10 times...but he is still better than Jesse Palmer. My god...the SEC network is awful at live broadcasts.

Ok, so you won't mind if I call it like I see it? Spielman is a moron. Following LF's first carry from scrimmage he said, "he was the top rated running back out of high school, but he hasn't proven it at the collegiate level." It was his first carry….was he supposed to score on every play or be a bust? Spielman said stupid things like that all night.

His point wasn't that he was a bust. His point was that he was great in HS, but it's a new game at this point.
Some of you people are so freakin' paranoid that if the announcers are not kissing LSU's butt on every play they are against us.

Not good, but could have been worse... anything is better than that sack of shite Verne.

Tackle "in space" is used so often it has become a cliche. "Athletic" and "athleticism" are two more words that are used way too often and have become cliches, too.

You won't be saying that after watching the Sam Houston & Louisiana Monroe games.
The good news is they are being televised. The bad news is that it's by SECN & ESPNU.
