re: Very interested in hearing the Miles-bashers' answers about the future

What's most relevant is a qualitative analysis of his record, not a quantitative analysis. His record, evaluated qualitatively, is not overly impressive.
Miles is the most divisive HC in the history of LSU football.
re: OK, NegaRanters. Replace Miles with whom?
Posted by JdbsLSUBR on 9/22/14 at 12:45 pm to BillyBowlegs
This is a good question, but it's premature to ask it now because Miles will probably be around through the end of the 2015 season. If so, there's no way to know now who the available candidates would be at that time. Also, if Florida and/or Georgia is/are looking for a HC, too, then we're going to have some serious competition to hire a new HC.
The universal truth of Tiger Rant

By just simply perusing the postings on this Board, its universal, and regrettable, truth is clearly revealed: Les Miles is the most divisive HC in the history of LSU football.
This is what it's going to take, before Alleva finally gets rid of Miles. By that time, it's going to get very ugly for this program.
Miles is a clone of Bo Schembechler, and he's stuck in a time warp. As hard as it is to believe, Miles will keep doing the same thing over and over again, until Alleva finally gets rid of him.
Just before the season started, Matt Stinchcomb said we have the best OL in the SEC, not just the SEC West. I wonder if he's ready to recant that remark?
re: Is it too early for a "Hire Jack Del Rio" thread

Hiring Del Rio wouldn't be a good idea.
Unfortunately, I think everything you've said is true. Miles will drag the Tigers down even further, before Alleva finally gets rid of him. At that point, it will take a very exceptional coach to return the Tigers to prominence. Who is that going to be? I can't say that I can think of anyone who is likely to be available, and who would have those credentials.

I'm just going to assume you're joking.
You know what they say, don't you? The Nile is the world's longest river and you are so deep in denial, you're drowning in rationalizations and excuses of your own making. Miles probably won't be gone, at until after the end of the 2015 season and even so, we won't be seriously contending for a NC before 2017.
Start with the position of head coach.
Les Miles, meet Abraham Lincoln:

A qualitative analysis, of those numbers, reveals that you are very wrong.
Miles will be gone, involuntarily, in two years, and we need to hire an up-and-comer with a proven record of success as an HC. I would not want to take a chance on someone with no HC experience, regardless of how much success someone has had as an OC or DC.
If Mark Stoops does well at Kentucky, he would be one possible candidate.

By "tentative" do you mean hesitant?

Could so many experienced evaluators of HS football talent have been wrong about him? Maybe he didn't deserve a 5* rating. Maybe he was just a man among boys and now that he's at the next level, his true abilities have been revealed. After 4 games, he does not appear to have the vision, initial burst or even the power that would've justified giving him a 5* rating.
re: For those wanting a new HC, there aren't any realistic candidates available...

Money doesn't just talk, it screams! In any event, I don't think Fisher would leave FSU.

Malzahn, Newton and Fairley had more to do with AU's last NC, than Chizik did. Chizik would not be a good choice.
He's Bo Schembechler reincarnated, and he will not change his outdated way of doing things.
Does Joe Alleva finally realize that Miles is a coaching dinosaur?
