I would have put Rohan Davey at number 2 and then had Jordan Jefferson right behind Flynn and Mauck. Flynn mauck and Etling should all be 3a 3b and 3c

I wouldn't have had Lee ranked nearly as high as you had him. I always thought he would have made a better linebacker than quarterback. Could have hit the weight room and bulked up.

This is worse take than apparently having Danny Etling higher than Jamarcus and Mett.

Andrew Hatch was playing some solid ball before he went all "I am batman"

He was bad against App St and N. Texas then Auburn showed he wasn't made for this level.

I think it’s close and you could put ZM ahead of DE given a slight edge on QBR. I gave the edge to Etling because of mobility and better athleticism compared to ZM who was an immobile statue in the pocket. The fact Etling is still in the league and ZM is not also confirms in my mind the full talent comparison favoring Etling when looking beyond just arm strength.

Compare their NFL careers:

Danny Etling
2018 - New England (practice squad)
2019 - Atlanta (practice squad, 1 week on active roster)
2020 - Seattle (practice squad)
2021 - Multiple teams (all practice squad)
2022 - TBD

Zach Mettenberger
2014 - Tennessee (started 6 games)
2015 - Tennessee (started 4 games)
2016 - Pittsburgh (practice squad, 4 weeks on active roster)

I like Danny Etling, but I’m not sure his NFL career is meaningful in the context of this conversation.

Are you saying Jamarcus Russell was worse than Jordan Jefferson and Danny Etling?

Yep, LSU QB career proved Lee loved taking on contact.
Maybe JJ instead?

You do not remember things very well. He was completely forgettable against 2 bad teams in App St/North Texas before Auburn. Against Auburn we scored 3 points in 4 drives with Hatch at QB.

Hatch is easily one of if not the worst QB to start at LSU the last 2 decades.

Why people are putting Davey above Russell is beyond me.

Russell's 2006 season was the best in LSU history until Burrow in 2019. Only Mettenberger's 2013 season really comes close, and we all know having OBJr and Jarvis realllllly helped that season out for MEtt.

IT should go something like:

1. Burrow
2. Russell
3. Mettenberger
4. Davey
5. Mauck

For Top 5. I could see an argument for Davey over Mett considering who Mett had to work with at WR in 2013. But statistically Mett was better.

Flynn gets very overrated by people because we won a natty that year, but he was a very average QB that season. In fact you could easily argue he's the worst starting QB of a national title team in the last 2 decades. Craig Krenzel is probably the only competition there and I'd still say Krenzel was better their NC years.

Modern History? Help me out,, Who has more than 32 starting Wins? That's quite a lot in college.. not may QBs get action as a FR, If not, then then would have to average 10+ wins a season...for 3 years...

He doesn’t have 32 career wins, he has 32 career starts and 24 wins which isn’t top 5 at LSU all time. Tommy Hodson, Herb Tyler, Jamarcus Russell, Joe Burrow, Warren Rabb and Bert Jones all have more wins starting for LSU.

JR is top 3 all time so having him behind Mauck is funny. Flynn couldn’t even beat him out yet you have him ahead too. Booty was all sec on a shitty team.
