To add to what you're saying, none of the stuff they get is "free." They work and train year round to be the best they can be in order to receive these things.

He was sitting out to get a contract with guaranteed money. If he had played this past season and gotten hurt he would only be making this years salary. He wasn't going to take that chance, so he sat out until he can get a new contract with guaranteed money.

Wow. Special conversation.

Let me brake this down for you. He will not be offered enough money to make up for how much he lost this season, especially when one must hold chance for getting injured the same.. unless you have some other data to present.

Did you follow the leveon bell deal at all? This was very much what was going on. He wanted a new contract with guaranteed money. Why do you think he wanted the guaranteed money?

100% accurate. I had the headache of following his every move because he was on my fantasy team.

I was adding to what you were saying from the same quoted text. Not saying you said that.

You're still falsely assuming that any non guaranteed money would have been lost. He lost out on the deal.

Calculate the possible money and even show me an average possibility of injury and show me where he has come out ahead.

Devin White and Williams' teammates made it Crystal Clear "Stop": They understand. But 4+ weeks later the HC, instead of touting GWill_29's accomplishments, is spinning something of great value in a negative way. Williams going top 2-3 in the Draft and getting paid is worth a lot to LSU in DBU recruiting value. His NFL success is worth more #LSUFOLIFE. He made a prudent decision. The Avg career in the NFL is 3.5 yrs, less than the free agency clock, and 80% go bankrupt in 3 yrs after leaving. LF skipped the Bowl and should have never played his last year. He should have listened to Marcus Dupree and been a LB. RBs only last an avg of 2 yrs. Now, due to injuries, 2 fights and a suspension, behavior consistent with CTE, his durability is in question, there is talk of trading him or worse, dropping him without pay because of his fights. So no one should ask a Top 10 player to risk doing anything for free.

"Does any head or assistant coach put their lives at risk or go to the players when they take stepping stone jobs and leave?" Well, no and the recruits are left questioning their "honor & integrity" as 'cra_cra Bebe' posited in his 'classless' excoriation of Williams. For example, Adam Henry wooed #1 WR Tyron Johnson in 2015 and bolted a few days later for SF. Getting Johnson was described by local media as 'one of the oddest phenomena in recruiting' how a run first team had so many top WRs. TJ transferred the next year along with 5 other WRs.

Aaron Hernandez played TE with Gronkoski. His career ended at 23 and he committed suicide at 27 in prison. His brain had the most severe CTE ever seen, equal to a 60-70 yr old dementia patient.

Voice to text. It's no wonder why Louisiana's education system is so bad when all they can focus on is usage of words and email signatures instead of assessing arguments being made.

He was trying to get a new deal with guaranteed money, Pittsburgh wasn't agreeing to a new deal. He had one year left on his contract, if he had a career ending injury the only money he would make would be from this past year. He sat out to avoid that happening and looking to get a new deal with guaranteed money. His next contract will be a large contract with 60 million guaranteed, I could be wrong on that number but I think that is what I was reading. So he was not risking 60 million by taking the chance to make 14 million.

As a Bell owner in my dynasty league I hated it, but I understood and agreed with him. He's going to get a huge contract with a large number guaranteed and he was willing to lose 14 million to make sure that he got to sign his next contract.

No he’s not the reason for playing is to win a college football championship! If you sit out the playoff then why play the season that’s the whole point in playing to win a championship

Yeah. How about just a few former LSU Head Coaches: Gerry Dinardo (Lasted one season in the XFL w/ the league's worst record. Briefly HC at Indiana before getting fired there. Now out of coaching; Mike Archer (DC and position at a couple different colleges and now a LB coach in CFL. Was never a HC again); Curley Hallman (after being fired at LSU he was a high school coach in AL for a few years; last I heard he was out of coaching entirely).

Well neither Elway nor Eli would sign with the team that drafter or was prepared to draft them.

It's not new that players make their self interest a priority. I think Shannon is full of shite.

Yeah Randy is making a million dollars a year w the offset UF is paying him. I’m sure making 7 digits with 1/4th the pressure living in Florida must sucks.

"My opinion, it probably will fester more and more in college. And then now the NFL is going to have to make a decision," Shannon said. "If you draft a young man that leaves early and now you're not a playoff team, that young man [is] going to say, 'I'm not going to play.' Same situation. Right, wrong or indifferent."

Randy apparently isn't very smart.

A player playing on a non-playoff NFL team is still getting paid. But, more importantly, getting lazy at the back end of the season on such a team absolutely COULD affect his future salaries.

Either way, there's a huge fricking gulf between "I don't get paid shite right now and if I can just avoid getting hurt, I'm about to get a multi-million dollar signing bonus" and pretty much ANY corollary to a current NFL player.
