The true measure of the offense is runs scored.

To be fair, the level of competition between our home and road series this year has been sizable.

Still waiting for someone to explain to me how Florida can compete for national titles in back-to-back seasons, but LSU needs a "rebuilding" year after its first deep run in the CWS in a decade.
Paul?

Why don't you start a thread asking your question rather than hijacking this thread?

Fla looks like they have the Nick Saban of college baseball and we have the Les Miles.

I don't know. Maybe you can ask Kevin O'Sullivan why a few years back after 3 straight CWS trips they had a season where they finished 29-30.

Went back through and looked at the raw numbers for LSU at home and LSU on the road. These splits are ... not great.

You just can't disguise your hatred of Paul Mainieri, can you?

O'Sullivan has won the same number of CWS championships at Florida as Mainieri has at LSU.

LSU Website has them.
As I said last season it was the games that made them better specifically Pap. I gave that metric before Kramer’s “speech” shite.
They don’t have OPS, but just look at slugging%, and OBP and you’ll see.
Pap hit 256 and had an OBP OC 401.
Here’s the link to LSU Sports.net. Loot LINKk them up.

Why don't you just post the 2018 LSU team numbers and where we are in the SEC in those numbers rather than explaining what Kramer or Papierski did last year? Thanks.

I can’t get the format to work on here.
The cut and paste looks bad.

To understand the numbers, you can’t look at the whole team last year or you’ll be fooled because there weren’t as many injuries.
This year’s team is crap in situational hitting - see GIDP, OBP (they don’t take walks) and their slugging % is down.

Are you insinuating that they are about the same as last season?

Nope. What have I said that would make you say that?

My point was you came into the thread saying the stats I posted from the SEC website are inadequate and I should post other stats that you believe are more important. So, I was inviting you to post those stats which you prefer and compare LSU to the other SEC schools using your preferred stats. It has nothing to do with last season.

But now you're saying you can't do it. So I guess the stats I posted will have to do for now, imperfect as they may be.

Cabrera, dups, and feduccia are quite good at taking pitches. Its guys like watson and jordan that dont. Injuries are a big part of why we arent as good of a hitting team as last year. But the two squads arent that far apart as most think. If smith were to come back it could put us on that level. Situational hitting and ground ball double plays....sounds like bad luck, not bad talent.

Maybe because W-L is the only stat that matters?

Will people still want O’Sullivan if he chokes in Omaha and doesn’t win a title with all of this talent?
