Rabalais "I doubt it will come to that"

The Advocate's Rabalais "I never thought athletic director Scott Woodward was enamored with Wade and all of the baggage he inherited with him in 2019, when Woodward took over the job. But I do think Woodward would have liked to let the case play out before deciding Wade’s fate." NCAA's Complex Case Unit basically finds that LSU is open to the much-dreaded charge of “lack of institutional control.”
“It is alleged that from February 2012 to June 2020, the scope and nature of the violations … demonstrate that the institution failed to exercise institutional control and monitor the conduct and administration of its football and basketball programs,” the NOA reads.
"That is exactly what no school ever wants to hear. In terms of the legalese and convoluted language the NCAA traffics in, this is about as harsh a condemnation as it gets. It's the kind of stuff that could penalize LSU’s two biggest programs for years. I doubt it will come to that. LSU has self-imposed some penalties on its football program. And it sent Wade packing once it had the NOA in hand, allowing LSU to fire Wade for cause."

Hopefully Alleva getting ousted saves some face

Definitely little impact on football given the nature of violations and the fact that they were handled already.

We know.
Good luck, Woody. Make sure you hire someone great. Because we had a pretty good coach when you arrived.
A&M will give us Buzz Williams for free.

The NCAA never accepts self imposed penalties without imposing more. This is going to hurt both programs.

Wade had to go. There was no way around it.

Their LOIC argument seems pretty weak outside of basketball. We already punished football. Just about everyone involved during that period is also gone, so noting that and what they're doing to remediate the situation should be sufficient. If not, then it's because they have an axe to grind...

No one can say with certainty how the NCAA will react towards LSU football, but LSU changed ADs and coaches, it self-imposed penalties and took a more aggressive approach in hiring the right coaches. Hiring a coach with impeccable credentials such as Coach Kelly from ND was HUGE!

What was Bill Self accused of in the Kansas LOA? Specifically.
His name is thrown around in comparison to Wade constantly. But no one ever shows the side by side LOA accusations.

Despite the catchphrases (In Wade we trust), the cute nicknames (the general), and the memes (it’s an ongoing investigation), he was still about a half-arse coach. I’ve said it all along and been scourged on here for it. It’s time to improve.

Had knowledge of and took part in Arranging and encouraging payments to players. Was hit with LIOC. In 2019.
Nothing has happened since.

It's bad and Kansas may well die on the hill of protecting him.
However, I recall there being an extra layer of insulation that differentiates it from the allegations against Wade insofar as a middle man/agent paying the player(s) where Self knew about it and sanctioned it.

Firing Alleva, O, and Wade, as well as our self-imposed football sanctions will help some. How much is yet to be seen. I suspect we will still see more sanctions. But they won’t be quite as bad as they could’ve been, otherwise. I also suspect they will be harsher on basketball than football.

Football will be ok, but LSU basketball is expected to be hit hard, no other way to look at it as far as the ( mafia) NCAA is concerned. They will make LSU an offer LSU can’t refuse.
