ncaa says if a thursday - saturday series no play on sunday...can't have a three game series over 4 days or somthing like that...

No, it makes perfectly good sense. 3 days to play 3 games is the correct rule. If series that start on Thursday were allowed to go into Sunday because of weather and they were allowed 4 days it would them teams a advantage over teams that played friday - sunday. The rule of 3 days to play 3 games is correct.
