He's fine against lesser competition, just not top teams.

He came in yesterday and immediately gave up 2 runs. I don't know why you go to him again.
Could have easily just gone with Newman for 3 innings. Or Bain, or Stallings, or... well anyone. I think I even remember hearing the Mainieri might bring in Lange out of the bullpen in today's game.

If we take the lead here I wouldn't hesitate for a second to bring in Lange to close it.

Reynolds showed so much promise early in his career but he's never gotten back to that level. A lot like Alex Edward. Parkview guys start hot then tail off through their LSU career.
No reason to not have used Newman if we needed him to close the last inning. He threw an easy 1-2-3 9th yesterday. Lange didn't need to pitch.

There are a lot damn experts here. Good lord, take your sports bar, madden, fantasy sports mentality and flush it. This us not all of you, but this team is coming off an 11 game winning steak and beat the #1 team in the nation 2 out of 3 times. Only dream about what this team accomplished and what Manieri has done with this team.

He said if we were in a position to win the game late and the win would give us a bye in the SEC tournament, he would consider using Lange for an inning because the bye meant Lange would get an extra day of rest anyway.

Using Lange in relief would have been a no-brainer if we had the lead with three innings left. The only reason to save Lange is so he can get us through the single-elimination game. If he can do that by pitching 3 innings on Saturday that's even better. In that case you'd have him ready to go for your second SEC tournament game. This would allow us to enter a double-elimination tournament and go Poche-Lange. Obvious move.

There were 2 2/3 innings left. Didn't understand bringing in a guy that pitched the day before.
